"The engine is rated at 177 kW (240 hp) at 5500 rpm and 343 N•m (253 lb•ft) at 2500 rpm on a 10.4:1 compression ratio."

It came from the JDM Proudia, it was an optional motor. It's GDI as well. Also you'll have an EXTREMELY hard time finding one and the cost will outweight the benefits without a doubt.

177kws....
tj vrx v6 is 163kws...

sounds like a lame v8 to me
having said that it would no doubt respond better to mods than our v6's

A V8 with so little power? I bet with some breathing mods and some ecu work it'll be putting out a lot more than that.
Put it in my car and I'll get custom plates "GT WL SP" or "WHL SPN".
An AWD might be better but I dunno how much power the autos will take.

I remember something about sulphur levels and GDI engines not liking the fuels that we have available in australia.

Also aren't the RON levels higher in Japan? Expensive fuel + V8 = huge running costs!

Aftermarket computer and a retune for Boost 98 would keep it from getting insane.

I say get a 380 motor, bored and stroked to 4L heads and cams and hold on for the bloody ride.

That Chrysler motor sux. Typical big dozey Yank motor. Btw, the teaser advert for the Raider is worth a smile ;)

There are a lot of V8 FWD yank tanks with lower outputs than our 6G74s!

Another prob is the added weight over the front of the Magna - which is already on the heavy nosed side of things.

Wouldn't that help in the traction stakes?

You'll have the hardest time finding one I can guarantee it. And I cant imagine you getting one for less than 5-6k to be honest and that's just a guess. You'll be up for ****loads because there's bugger all of them around and you'll have to get it imported and any shop will charge you a fortune. That's just the engine.

Spend 5-6k on what you have now, you'd be better off. Or save and buy another car lol It just won't be worth it

Delphia

My advice is dont waste your time.

Get a set of extractors a full exhaust, K&N pod in a Ez-boy box with a 100mm CAI, RPW plenum with ramtubes, insulator spacers, Ezboy 70mm TB, a set of cams and a aftermarket computer. that should see you punching into the range of the V8's power.

All that will run you up to about $4000 and save you alot of headaches.

Hunt it out tho. If you do manage to get one, install it and have a car that isnt a pig to drive in the end, Ill eat my words. Ichiban engines would be your best bet. I think they are in S.A too.

They'll probably tell you a bunch of crap like they told me. I was told the DOHC had completely different engine mounts and it would never fit.

In reference to the weight of the engine, it would have hardly any problem as it only weighs an extra 10kg. It will also bolt straight up to the transmission.

What would be nice is dropping the new 5.7lt HEMI engine found in the Chrysler 300C.
mmmm, Hemi!
