Hi guys,

I am just wondering whats your advice on speakers, I don't want to spend to much but I want a noticable difference. I own a TJ so it has stock 6x9 in the back I think and I'm unsure what other speakers are in it (2 in the front door I presume, not sure of size)

Firstly, does anyone know what speakers were stock for the 2002 TJ MY02 3.0l

Secondly, should I just get some decent 6x9 (like 300$ for the pair) in the back?
Or should I get some decent smaller ones for the front and leave the stock 6x9 in the back?
Or should I go for some like 200$ 6x9 in the back, and $100 ones in the front?

What sort of mix of speakers would give best value, I'm not going to get a sub or amp I don't think. Wanting to spend maybe 300$ to 400$ on speakers all up.

Only information I've been given thus far is 'bigger isnt better' and that I shouldn't just go buy some big 6x9 in the back and rely on them, that infact some dodgy 6x9 in the back would do the job for the base and then some nice ones in the front for sound as if you rely on the back for all the sound/base then the people in the back get blasted and hence it's better to spread the load by having decents all round.

Ah well, just after peoples advice.
Also, what brands? Clarion, pioneer, jvc .. who makes good bang for your buck speakers?

OH, I have this deck as mentioned in another thread - apparently it has some sort of sub in it? Or is that just like an equilizer that boosts the base if you want to?

OK.. First Up... No, Dodgey speakers anywhere are gonna sound Crap Regardless of Position..

So your Looking at a set up with no Sub... So I would Say If we Make the Budget $400 That Gives us some Flexability

Rears
A Bass Heavy 6x9 will be Needed for the Rears, So lets look at JBL, Kicker and Fusion for the Rears.. These Brands tend to be a little more Bassier then their opposition and dont Cost the earth but are a tad Better then your run of the Mill Sony, Pioneer and JVC

Fronts : Clarion, JVC and Jaycar all make Splits that will sound nice up front...
Specific Models are not necessary as it will be your Ears and Budget that will have to decide...

My Best Recommendation I can give is
Fronts: Clarion SRS 1725 (?) $180
Rears : JBL GTO 6930(?) $199

Your Deck has Sub -Out.. It has an RCA line out that has a Pre-Amp attached to it to allow you to filter out High Frequencies from the Signal allowing you to connect an Amplifier that has no Cross Over on it to power a Sub..
