Can't give absolute kws, but putting a pod filter on will make your engine a lot more rev happy. I use to run out of go above 5000RPM, but with the pod it keeps on going.

EZ Boys pod box won't add outright kilowatts. It will just keep what's there, and lessen the effect of sucking in hot air from the engine bay, particularly at lights when the heat builds up.

In this case you plant your foot and all you suck is some hot air. With the pod box/CAI you'll suck some cooler air from outside instead. Oh and the neglibable ram air effect, which will only happen if you mount it in a fog light hole or find some other way of getting the intake into a positive pressure zone.

If you want a pod, do it, otherwise just keep the stock airbox and get a K&N panel filter

is ram air effect good or bad???

Good. Thats why you see F1 cars sucking air from an airbox that is headon to catch the air, and Supercars suck air from the front of the car where the 'grill' is'

These are areas of of high pressure. If these guys didn't go to the extremes they do to get to cool high pressure air, neither would I.

Is that really a wise idea like i like how it looks like a cai but what happens when it rains?

just having the piping there is no problem, even havin the pod down there apparently doesn't cause HUUUGE problems like some people have speculated.

Its not too likely that our engines will suck rainwater straight up through the piping (- using EZs setup - over 40 cms in my case) into the filter so I dont worry about it. Past experiences from friends have proven this to me.
However, using Tubrocharged or large capacity engines it could well be a problem.

As for RAM air - it works and would be really great, only that we Magna drivers in Australia) very rarely travel at a speed where a real RAM effect would take place.

although just using a CAI 100mm cross sectional pipe would have a negligible effect. isnt it possible that if a big enough air dam was created it would have a reasonable effect at lower speeds?

such as creating an airdamn out of fibreglass the size of the main hole in jpegs 'JN style' front bar? :D [btw it would be an 500 * 400mm size im guessing?]

its my idea... backoff! haha :P

Just an off-the-cuff idea - I was just wondering if anyone has thought about adding a small scoop to the bonnet as the intake for a CAI - or is there less positive air pressure there?
...or maybe cost is the negative factor? :doubt:

At the front of the bonnet is bad, at the back of the bonnet is pretty much neutral.
