Ok im ashamed.

My car is over 5000km OVERDUE for an oil change.

Aside from an oil and filter change, is there anything else i should specialy request my mechanic do to undo any negative effects of my ... (when it first went over i couldnt spare $20 a week, then the holiday season kicked off at work and i didnt have the time.) overdue maintinence.

just oil filter and new oil ?
maybe spark plugs if theyve done more than 20000km's
maybe flush the radiator if youve never done it and put new good quality coolant(not techtaloy) use genuine mitsu stuff or titan coolant is good.

actually the back ones on your model are hard to do so the labor would be expensive.....if you get them done maybe replace them with iridium spark plugs $20 each so you wont have to replace them again

5000k's aint that much.... what colour is the oil? if its still clean its all good. as long as you havent gone 20,000k's and 2 years on the last bit of oil it shouldnt be too much of a problem.

Not too bad for 5000km due oil change depends on the grade of oil.

Fuel filter?
Air Filter? (depend on what you have)
Spark Plugs as above mentioned.

fuel filter, air filter, sparkies and leads; transmission oil, clutch fluid, radiator stuff as stated;

got my transaxle oil changed still doesnt like going into reverse but it always go in with no crunch now that may have been my low clutch fluid drives smooth as again

Definitely fuel filter, especially if it hasn't been done in quite a while, it's not part of a service & has to asked for specifically

If you're handy you can change it yourself, took me all of 10min & saved on the labour costs :)
