I was wondering any other Magnas here besides my TE using the H3C standard for high beams and is it possible to change the connections to a standard H3? Opinions and suggestions?
H3C seems to be getting extinct and hard to fine in normal shops. Was thinking of changing them.

So everyone is using a different type of High beams? Can someone let me know if H3 connectors can be changed from my H3C? I thought all 3rd gens holds the same type of lights especially for TE-TF. I guess I am wrong. bummer.

You can get the xenon gas white/blue h3c globes from aspec auto accessories in perth. i think they are from $35Xenon to $65Hybrid a pair depending on the brand.

Thanks for that, but not what I have in mind, as you see these are so odd fitting connectors.
I want to change these connectors to a H3 or something more common? Would that be possible? What does the Th and TJs use for their High Beams? maybe I go and try wreckers to ask for those connectors.

My TF has H1's for the high-only beams, which are very widely available and cheap. Maybe you could find a pair of globe holders from a TF at a wreckers and splice them in.
If you are not confident with doing 12V auto electrical work, then get your local Auto-sparky to do it for you. Also consider getting thicker guage wiring put in and your lights running off relays as per heathyoung's headlamp FAQ. I'm about to go to the local auto electrican to get mine done in the near future.
My headlights dim on bass hits, so I am upgrading Audio power wire to 0AWG and the headlights to something much thicker.

Guess this was the best advice yet. What about other guys here, what kind of globes are being used for high beams?
I could get a much thick adaptor wiring for the H4 main lights.

I'd PM heathyoung and ask him what he thinks. When it comes to headlights, he is the most knowledgeable on here.
READ THE FAQ (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23184&highlight=headlamp) first and then see if you can glean some info from that.
You may also be able to buy H1 globe holders to suit directly from your dealer... probably costly though.

Thanks, have read the thread.
Was mainly thinking whether different types of globes would fit my set of headlights for the highbeams. We will wait for the master to reply. Worse case is stick with H3C and get some spares as they seem hard to come by.

I'm pretty sure all TE-TJ (at least) had H1's in as their High-only bulb (that's in your main headlights, towrads the centre of the car) unless yours has been 'modified' (only god knows why) by a previous owner.
The Fog lights on 'Rada's and upper level sports and VRX's are apparently H3... do you mean the ones right down in the bumper?
So looking at the car from the front, the outside main Hi/Lows are H4, The inside high beam only are H1, and the foggies H3. H3 is the same as H1, but has a flying lead. H1 grounds to the outside metal of the bulb, not a flying lead.

I am pretty sure they came as H3C and the owener does not seem to be the type that would go and alter things. Maybe this was the first few 3rd gen so it came this way. But From what I can see, the H1 is a one piece metal plug can someone at least show me how are they connected or how the connector for the H1 looks like?
And yup I do know what I am talking about for the high beam alone lights, not refering to any others. Definately will look into changing them to H1 if they can be fitted.

May I know from others who here have these H3C lights and are the rest H1 ?
Appreciate if one of you could take a shot of the H1 connectors and a close up shot of the lights and internal connectors. Please?
Thanks!

There is a good chance you need more power not better power transfer.. Maybe its time for another battery..:P you know you want too..

can some of you guys please give the part number of the highbeams on your car please?
I though all 3rd Gen are using the same standard headlights?
Are you guys using H1, H3, or H3C?
Thanks in advance. I am thinking of trying to change my H3C
