I'd like to know how everyone has setup their system. I have a 12' sub, 2 rear 6.5's and (soon to have) 2 front splits. I'm wondering, my amps have the option to cancel out high pass hz or low pass hz. Should i make it so the sub only produces low pass sound and all 4 speakers only produce high pass? What would be the best config?
Is there a reason you want so many speakers in such a refined space? You might find to your horror that once you have it all in the system is actually sounds a lot better sounding with half the splits turned off. ;)
There is no hard and fast rule for tuning. Each and every car is different. I have my fronts crossed at 55Hz and up while the sub does 60Hz and down. The fronts use a 6dB slope while the sub uses a sharper 24dB/octave slope to avoid dragging the stage backwards.
I usually start at the 80Hz split and go from there. :)

4 speakers and a sub? How's that lots of speakers? I'm using the two rears and the sub now and i can tell you, in the front its not all that loud compared to the rear. How can it sound any better with the splits turned off?

I think marty thought u were running two sets of front and rear splits.Eg two mids and two tweets in each door.
Assuming you aren't, I usually start by highpassing the fronts around 60-80 and lowpassing the sub around 60-80. You'll find the sweet spot in there depending what slope you are running.
Atm Im running my fronts almost full range :) Subs low passed around 50 hz 24db/oct.
Fade 90% to the front as well to keep the stage forward.
