After searching the forums and finding lost of posts but not alot of info on this i went to Mitsubishi today and bought the clear side indicators direct from them. each unit is complete and includes the orange globe aswell.

Part # MN169192
List Price $9.36ex
Total $20.60inc.

cheaper than after market and its Genuine :D

My car is a TH but these would fit quite a few Magna models

Are these only in WA or available at all Mitsu dealers Australia Wide?

I would say Aus wide i just went into the local dealer spare parts counter and got them. If your dealer doesnt have them there is no reason they couldnt order them in as they are a genuine part

Thanks for the tip. Can't believe they're that cheap.
Were they actually made for Magnas?

Didnt actually ask what they were off? but i compered it with a new one they had for my car (the correct part number for my car) and they are identical apart from lens colour... and whats even crazier is the orange ones are more expensive??? hahaha

I was keeping this a secret cos I wanted to sell them on ebay, but I can't be stuffed.
The clear side indicators are genuine and only cost 20 bucks.... why?
The 380 comes standard with clear side indicators, thus being the same as the te-tj.
Being mass-produced has bought the cost down making this now a bargain mod!

i'm pretty sure they're originally from a lancer, sounds like the same ones that i've got on my car.

i just feel sorry for the TL owners out there... who the hell decided to put a repeater lamp there!!

Lol why didnt this came out earlier and save me the crap of finding all the work of distributors in Singapore etc...

Well MadXi on the bright side you got the tinted ones! They dont have it in Aus.
Can you be good enough to show us a pic of your geniune clear indicators?

BTW its also personal peference the aftermarket ones look more Altezza or sporty, the ones for Perjaros are pretty much matt and you see less chrome IMO.
But again is personal peference, and in some way definately a better fit than the aftermarkets.

That doesnt look like the originals, they look like the ones I have been selling. I am sure some one had the ones that have them looks more matt like those which were on ebay. but hey if those were the originals then I cant see the difference. I am pretty sure the Originals are not as clear as those.

I had a look on Ebay and found the ones that i posted a pic of. They said they were the for the CE Lancer/Magna & Pajero. They look alot clearer/chromier then the stock ones. I still think the 380 ones look best and they fit straight into TJ's so its all good!

Ice box- not sure if the lens is identical? it is the identical shape just not sure about the pattern in the plastic.

I will get a pic of them tonight

Comes ready to plug in. I fitted them in the work car park after work last night at 9 haha
used a pen with a jumper over it pusshing on the back edge of the light slide it forwards till u hear a sound that makes u think you have broken something haha dont worry you haven't ;) once u hear that click it will just slide out. Unclip the loom from the back of it (no tools required) clip in new light to loom then slide new indicator in front edge first the just push it in and it will click into place

The plastic cover (lens) is different to the stock ones. its alot more clearer therfore it appears chromier which will give my car more BLING. I'll have to be buying me some of those.

The Originals should look exactly like the orange ones except clear version or Matt clear.
Which ever way your contribution here is good info man. Respect! I probably go and get one of these as well and change them around to my liking. Is pretty much how you want your magna to look. I can have a pic of the original by maybe late afternoon? Even though
I am in Singapore, there are many Lancers here with those original indicators which fit the Magnas.

I bought myself some SilverVision Philips orange bulbs to make them stand out.

Again thanks for the info, as this to me is unselfish information. I have been following side indicator threads for some time, and was shocked when people were quoting $75 for the new Lancer's flat type indicators. Which thought it wasnt worth the effort to check how much were these originals. Cheers for that.

Thanks :) as i said alot of threads on this topic, but not alot of info.

I got them from Singapore as I know I cant buy them in WA and never see Philips products that often anyway. So far I only saw Philips Vision Plus in WA and pretty much hard to find the rest of lighting. The Silvervision comes in normal clear or Orange. and like you said silver when off. Bought them at $15.00

So ic, that mean I got them cheap. I am shock to see the range of Philips bulbs
Standard->VisionPlus->CrystalVision->BlueVision->Premium->DiamondVision and also SilverVision for side globes.

Could you pm me the address of that shop so I could enquire them about some lighting globes when I get back to Perth? I am still wondering wtf my headlights are holding H3C for my high beams.

I might have to get some of those Silver vision blubs aswell to make it more chromier/blingier :D ! Going off topic here but i was going to get some Blue or Diamond Vision globes for the front lights but i can't get access to the front lights to change them over? How can u gain access to them?

First you pull out the plugs, then you have to undo the clips holding the globes in. These were a real pain in the ass to do the first time. Once you figure it out, it's easy. If possible, get a bright torch and stick your head in there so you can see what needs to be done.

I can't get the plugs out to begin with and if i did manage to get them out there isn't enough room to get my hand in there to swap over the globes. Is it hard to take the light out? would be alot easier?

off the topic, what highbeams part are you huys using? been asking like crazy. H3, h1 or H3C?

On the left you have to remove the battery cover first, on the right side you have to move the windscreen washer fluid container out of the way.

Nexus> High beams 3rd gens (non-para) are H1. I didn't bother changing those as no one will ever see them anyway.

just remember bluevision and crystal vision are not approved for road use. Stick to the blue vision... as they are the brightest legal headlights in the phillips range. Do not use the phillips ultra bright reversing lights...as they are ALOT higher wattage then standard globe and i have heard reports of some lenses warping from the heat.

Went to pick up the silver vision globes but only the tip is silver which defeats the point as you can still see all the orange
bought yellow wedge LED instead totally clear when not turned on so you wont see them at all. and they were $20 cheaper than the silver vision globes

Wow Mitsubishi were still trying to sell indicators for about $90 a few months ago.

Ok some interesting topic on this, LED vs good quality globes.
I have tried Narva LEDs they crap out on me in one month and I had them changed.
When first asked, they told me is the new face change in light technology. Honestly tried and didnt seemed or hope to be as bright as I thought. How much are they trying to sell Silver Vision globes?

hlucin8
13-01-2006, 04:30 PM
silver visions were $25 but id rather have orange globes than pay $25 for globes with only the tip coloured silver. i had a look inside my indicators to see what would be visiable and to make it worthwhile the entire globe has to be silver otherwise you can still see it. payed $5.50 for the leds. if they only last 1 month ill put the brand new orange globes that came with them back in. unless i find full silver ones before then.

well if they try to charge more... (as i know just about every dealer changes there prices like they change their underware) tell them the part number and list price you paid "last time you bought them"... Its in the 1st post excluding gst.

Cost was $10.00 each.

Cheers for the pics! Hey Mitsubishi here are charging me $25.00 for them. It was a tedious process as trying to explain to them that my car is not from Singapore but it equals to the lancers. lol

Keep on trying to ask me for VIN number etc....

I think I play around with my tinted ones and te clear aftermarket ones first and if feel like it grab one of the originals as well.

Thanks Mad Xi for letting me know which ones for highbeams. What about the Paras?

I am just wondering wtf my car is using H3C. I bought H1 relay connectors but not sure I know how to connect these and whether my haed lamp can use H1.

Sounds like they are designed for blinkers where the globe is at a right angle to the lens, rather than our blinkers, where the globe is mounted parallel to the lens.

So where did you get this from??? what do you need to ask for - never heard of a 'yellow wedge led'...... how does the colour / light output compare to a traditional globe? I'd be interested in getting some.
