Hey have a TF auto, and recently been seeing the battery light flashing at me on and off occassionally. Seems to go away when i turn my air con off (been hot in qld...) and after long periods of air con use, it re-appears.

Is this the cause or something else? Is my air con draining my battery?

have u checked ur alternator / battery recently... cause i had the same problem, and i got a new alternator (bought new battery and problem occured a lil bit less frequently), and it hasnt done it since.

Try turning on everything you can at idle, high beam,,AC, hazards, radio etc and see if it comes on. If it does slowly build the revs to about 2000 RPM to see if it goes out. If if doesnt or takes a few revs i.e. 1500+ to go out your alternator is probly on the way out. :)

I had same thing happen to me (TF Exec, 106k on the clock) so I replaced the belt, happens less often but still does sometimes, talked to Southland Mits, and they say either replace the alternator, or the voltage regulator (their quote for vot reg about $150-$160). Just gonna stick in a new alternator, cos someone told me if you replace the voltage regulator, it only fixes things for a little while as the diodes at the back of the alternator could be on their way out too.

Turns out all you need to do to fix this is check the fluid levels in your battery!!! Bone dry..... Except that lovely sludge stuff that sits on the bottom....
