ive recently been told the triton a few yrs back has the same 3ltr engine as my tf, i was also told it was running 600+ hp using twin 600 hp turbos, anyone else heard about this and what would the turbo lag be like??

haven't heard about that.. it's do-able though, but with enough time and money anything is possible ;)
lag may not be as bad as you'd expect because with a twin arrangement, one per bank, you can keep them smaller.
Booya's car made 300kW (400hp) at the wheels with a single large 700hp turbo and boost came on hard around 2500 from memory.

I'm pretty sure the Tritons ran the DOHC 24v 3.0l V6, not the SOHC.

The triton runs the 3.0 SOHC 24v engine. One model pajero did have the 6G74 DOHC 24v engine but was then converted back to the SOHC 24v model engine to get more low down torque.
Yes you could turbocharge the vehicle very easily but to get in excess of say 400hp at the flywheel, you are going to need some internal work, not necessarily forged components, to get it.
But being Rear Wheel Drive, I am sure there is a Eaton / Powerdyne superhcharger kit already avialable for your car. That may be a better alternative as it woudl be a great starting point and enable you to get a truck load of torque very quickly.

a triton would be a perfect base for a nice lowrider! especially if the engine loves forced induction as much as the magna's seem to! my mate's dad uses a magna engine with ralliart cams in a off-road race buggy... apparently does very well too!!

no they arent. the front suspension setup on a triton isnt conventional springs and shocks like 90% of other cars, the front is HARD to lower.

A lot of Tritons (early models) got 3.8L buicks lumped into them sucessful - depending on your version of 'sucess' ;)
