Hey guys, anybody know how much $$$ I would need to replace the lifters in my 95 KS Verada V6 6G72 12 valve engine? Pretty sure it's these making the noise, it's not the injectors. They're getting a lot louder, mainly when the engine is warm but it's starting to get embarrasing when driving through town.
Cheers..

I cant be definitive, but ive heard its in the ball park of $10 a peice, so thats around $120 for the set. Labour... Im not sure, should be that long as you wouldnt have to remove all that much. Sorry cant help you more, but at least it gives you some idea.

lifters do not require too much labour... it's really a matter of taking the rocker cover off, rocker gear off, loading them up with new clean oil, putting them in, do the rocker gear bolts with torque wrench, then rocker cover back on (new gasket!!! never reuse these, it'll just end up leakin). i'm unsure about the specifics of the lifters in the V6s though... for example my mates v6 telstar requires the intake gear to come off the get one of the rocker covers off...

However, going from experience, it takes about 20 minutes to change lifters in a 4cyl. Had to do them the other day on my mates sigma the other day (he's running a magna head + efi). They were around $7 each.

lifters dont realy die they just get dirty and clog up, they can be cleaned out...
