I don't have power windows (yes sad) and my windows are very loose and sometimes the passenger one slides down a cm or so during the night. How can i tighten them so they are not loose?

Its a pain in the azz cuz 2 nights ago the passenger side window had fallen down bout 1cm and it was raining so the seat was a lil wet.
try take a look at the regulator thingy the window is on. (remove door trim obviously, take a look, wind the window up and wobble it a bit from inside the door and see where its loosest). Just an opinion on what i'd do. (Locate the problem then see what u can do)

Thanx Dave...i'll check it out 2morrow on my day off! What could the likely problems be though? Any idea....or not till i take the trim off and have a look?

i had an old landcruiser for a while. and i had the same problem. all it was was there was a couple of teeth missing of one of the cogs cause somebodys wound it too fast or tried to do it up more than it should have been and a ferw things were loose.
i payed about 30 - 40 dollars for a new window regulator and the fixed the problem right up.

There is a small amount of adjustment in the tracks that the glass slides in. There should be a bolt down the bottom of 1 that you can loosen and move the track in tighter to provide a little more grip on the glass. This might help a little. :D
The problem ussually is caused by wear in the regulator (winder) and there isnt much you can do about it really. :D
it seems that it might be what wooley said, but if it isnt, it might be that has fallen down a bit, ofcourse there are easy temperary solutions. Some dont work and some can damage your car so i'd say take a look under your trim first and see what seems to be the problem, if it seems to be the teeth, see if you can rotate the teeth so that they are in a different position while the window is completely up if you want it to stop dropping. But get it fixed when ever you can and you should only need to replace the gear/cog if this is the problem. Good Luck and dont worry because yours isnt that bad as my friend in his colt had his window drop straight down into the door as it shattered at the bottom and this was at 80km/h. It was one nasty surprise. :D
