My daughter has an 89 magna elite and the blinkers and hazard lights have totally stopped working. I have checked the fuse and that there is power at the fuse both are ok. I cant find the blinker relay, does anyone know what side it is under the dash. tia

is it a tn or tp?? ive got the manuals for both and can look it up if u know the model :D
have u checked ur fuses in the engine bay next to the battery??
im not sure if this is it but behind the steering wheel under the dash there is a flasher unit relay which is connected with the heater relay, stop lamp relay, rear demister relay. it should look like a black relay in the middle which is the flasher unit(big and square) then three white relay around the outside hope it helps and other info just ask :)

Thanks for the reply. I had a look and it not an 89 its an 8/88 TN . Yes I checked the fuses under bonnet but none of them say anything about indicators. Under the drivers side dash there is a block of relays. 2 grey ones, 1 black one and a larger green one.

is the green one in the middle with the smaller ones around it. the big one should be the fasher unit eg. blinkers, hazzard . go to the wreckers and pull one out of another tn should have no probs then.If my scanner was working id scan the pic for ya but its not sorry.

well then thats diffrent. probably been changed a few times in its lifetime.there should be one thats bigger than the rest that will be the flasher unit ur looking for. oops looking at the pic wrong. the flasher unit is in the middle to the side. the bigger one at the top is the stop lamp relay. bootom left should be the heater relay and bottom right should be the demister relay that only leaves one in the middle on the side. in the pic it's in the middle on the right

Yep thats it. the black one is ur flasher uint (as the manual calls it).the manual states for trouble shootings indicators (1) lamp bulb blown. replace or renew (2) fault in warning lamp wiring. check and repair (3) fuse blown. replace (4)flasher unit faulty. replace or renew (5) turn signal switch faulty. check and renew as needed. so replace the black one if that doesnt work replace the turn signal switch. hope it helps :D

Well I got a new relay and we are still up the creek. It doesn't light up anything, I should be able to trace it back with my meter if I can get a wiring diagram. I need to determine if its the switch or wiring before I go and buy a new switch. I have got power to the fuse under the dash. Where does it go from there? Even wire colours will help.

Problem solved
It turned out to be the hazard light switch. Theres a circuit in the switch that disables the blinkers when the hazard lights are on. :D
Thanks for your help smooth2
