Hey guy's i need some thoughts...
When i got my throttle body cleaned out 2 things slightly went wrong, every time i turn the car on from cold it will idle at 1500 rpm for a few mins till it warms... (i believe that is the automatic choke turning itself on because the car isnt breathing propperly)... and the other bad thing thats getting worse is when i turn the engine on, On some Freak occasions... not often i will hear a noise... its sorta like a rattle but its kinda like a scraping... This only happens After the engine has ignited and the key is back in the on position... it only lasts a few seconds 1 - 2 but its still a bad noise and i dont think engines should make noises like that... i wanna get these things fixed but parentals say leave it alone till its a problem... (god knows why... to me its a problem weeks ago)...
i would record it but its kinda not a constant thing so i wouldnt know when to get ready...
Hopefully when i take it to a mechanic he can just go yep its this and this and things will be fine.... but im wondering has anyone got the same sorta weird noise or suggestions on what it is...
cheers

see if it is the cover for the belt that goes around the water pump. Probably isnt but that was the problem to me. See if you can at least locate it for the mechanics, can make it alot quicker. Use a rolled up newspaper or carboard and use it to find the point where the sound is loudest. I know it only happens on particular occassions but if it is there for awhile (starts becoming more common, see if you can do this)

problem 1: the revving....

your car should sit at 1500rpm until it gets warm, everyones car does that (should do that anyway)

problem 2: the scraping....

do you have enough oil in your car? do you have enough oil in your gearbox? try turning the aircon fan off, leave it for a few seconds to stop fully, and then back on again and see if its the sound of the fan starting up

try these and see how you go :D

1. K thanx.... just got concerned because when i had the car it was running fine... then then the throttle body needed cleaning and yeah... just worried me because it never happened before

2. Yeup oil is all fine... its not the aircon... it happens only when the car is started, not when the fan starts... thinking maybe starter motor dieing or something... *shrugz* it should be checked by next week... ill post whatever the problem was when its fixed
