A bloke at autobarn thied to tell me that you can buy a chip that will make ANY car do 0-60km/h in 6 seconds flat. I told him staight out that i dont belive him. So he tells my his uncle did it in his straight gas GAS V6 commodore and it does 0-60km/h in 6 sec flat. so i told a stock v6 comadore will do 0-100 in bout 8 sec, so if does 0-60 in 6, then it has lost power. then i told him why would i buy a chip when i can advance the timming and run shells new 100 octane fuel..... he had nuthing.

Is it just me or many of such mechanics think we know totally nuts about cars?
It is sad as some of these shops have good reputation but can be easily spoiled by such salesman or bad mechanics.

I always pretend I know nothing, that way I find out how honest the people I'm dealing with are. :D

Well years ago a pushy salesman tried to push (ironically) his vacuum cleaner products on my mother and decided he would invite himself in the house. My mother clearly explained that she was not interested but he was not interested in listening. Little did he know but our well trained Doberman was in the next room listening in.

My mum asked him politely again to leave but he chose the dumber option... and even raised his voice slightly which was enough for our dog to decide enough was enough... well he dropped all his gear and ran down the road with our growling pooch on his tail. He reluctantly came back 10-20 mins later to collect his things and his van which had been sitting in the driveway... he was a little whiter and quieter than he was earlier lol

Hahaha, then I might just adopt the tactic of actually taking a doberman with me whilst I shop...

I total agree

When I first got the magna, I strolled into autobahn and went to buy some new leads. I was told that I don't need decent ones, crap ones will be fine. (not in those words though) I just looked at him and said "It's my money, Why do you care how I spend it?"

Some time this year I be buying a strut brace and if the salesperson acts like a d***, I'll walk straight.

1 fun think i like doing is going in to a used car yard ...they all ways walk straight up to you and ask if you need help ..
i reply ...
1 i think the guy putting these prices on these cars need the help.
2 laugh and walk away
3 look at a car thats the same as yours and tell him you payed half what he got on his last week.
4 ask him what he payed for it then tell him i got cash i dont buy from a lying salesmen
