In my previous car (not saying what....!!!!) I used soft Bendix pads. They don't lock easily and don't wear out the disk and stop the car very efficiently. Creates more dust due to higher wear. How many km? Wwoh, depends on how you hammer - 30-50 k (???)
Hard, metallic pads last longer and on non ABS cars they tend to be on/off kinda function, not much feel and so on. Hate them! But obviously they last longer and so on.
Bendix's are also much dearer....

brake pads are one of the cheapest items to replace in the car. i am using ferodo (which is cheap and widely available) but i am told bendix perform better for slightly more $$$.

Cheapos start form 15 bux a pack. Bendix can go close to 100. Check with your local car dude.
Dust? Yepp......
But I still prefer the performance. I will change mine to Bendix later on, it's still reasonably new car with me and pads are ok.

Yeah, I like Lucas pads. They can put up with my braking at a race track although they wore out really fast at that temperature.
