howdy i realise no one would know any thing about a pajero io really but i can tell u it uses a 4g94 engine mounted n/s-would it be possible to drop a vr4 engine in it (without gearbox)

theres a few different io's...
1.6 3 door (crap)
1.8 5 door up to 2000\2001( quite nice)

then the ZR which has the 2 liter.. it goes pretty well cos weve had one,

Which one do you have? or are you considering buying one....

i would not bother to turbo the 2liter, but the 1.8 most definitly would be a big improvement.... a bolt on setup would be easier than a full conversion

Even if you got a MIVEC twin cam head (from mitsu) along with a ECU like a motec or Greddy,or eMANAGE ...and some custom extractors and a good induction set up like a long aluminium or stainless intake pipie with a pod filter...this would be a pretty awesom set up.

The IO has a fair bit of room under the bonnet and there are a couple of conversions that can be done, a MIVEC in the 1.8 or 2.0 would bemore powerful than a standard turbo.

also a 2.5 V6 from the fancy galant fits too! that engin also comes twin turbo which would cost about $10,000 to put in.... very expensive, but VERY INSANE!!!

ive got a 2litre 2 door ZR (the best one) but it needs to be insane!
so how sure are you that a vr4 will fit in it
