k i did my CAI yesterday/today and all is good except that the flexi hose dosnt seem to be holdin its shape. the first bend from the air box was a nice bend but after a drive and heat from the engine it has kinda gone week and has a amall pinch on the bend. will this affect ne thing sumhow??? its still suckin in lots of air but the bend worries me. if now one has ne idea wat im on bout wil bost a pic of it 2night.
thanks

lol, i don't think your producing that much power or needing a smooooth collection of air that it will really matter. Don't worry about it IMO.

Just out of curiosity........ have you had any fingers amputated?? Thats about the worst typing I've ever seen!!!
Sounds to me like you're referring to the flexi piping you buy from Supercheap/Autobarn etc. If so - all I can say is you get what you pay for.
A bit of kink in the piping isn't going to stop it doing its job (it will still suck 'cooler' air from low on the front bar into the air box). Any kinks, or tight bends will cause turbulance, and slight restriction to the flow of air thru the piping - but from what you describe, the effects would be hardly noticable. Just remember - the intake system will only flow as well as its most restrictive point. If the intake piping becomes the most restricive part of the system, then it will hinder performance.

the kink isnt that bad. can still put had through it. and ye i did buy the flexi pipe from super cheap $30. coz i went to bunnings and asked them and they dun have ne. all they have are irrigation piping.

Ez-boys setup is t3h 1337.
I helped install one and its a very smooth run. 100mm pipe and an enclosed box.
the supercheap stuff is ****, I tossed mine after a while cause it crushes too easy and deforms under heat WAY too easy.
Invest in an EZ-boy intake kit, trust me.

At least get the TPR ducting, its good rubber stuff with decent wire windings and wont deform with the heat. PM EZ Boy.

of all the CAI setups i have tried, with and without pods the best system (dyno and track proven) i found was the stock intake system and stock air filter. It just sux cause it doesnt make any noise

lol ye thats why i got the K&N filter coz it sounds sweet
has EZBoy come up with a CAI for the 2nd gens yet?
I am well interested. The 3rd gen systems i have seen on this forum look sweet as.

I just finished my CAI on my TN today but my sister took her digi cam back so i cant get pix :( Only thing left is to get a K&N but everyone i rang didnt have them is stock or were way to expensive.
I bought the flexi tube from super cheap and it has a few bends because it sort of wrapps around the battery and then i had to jam it down that hole infront of the battery. I totally screwed up my hand and couldnt move my fingers for ages.
I wasnt sure about the bends but what i did, was take the CAI off and place my hand over the air filter ecloser to check the air flow. I then put it over the pipe of the CAI and it felt like it was sucking the same so its all good :)
I cant feel a difference in performance but its probably because my air filter is very very crappy (its black inbetween the fins  )
i think i posted this up somewhere b4 but i cant remember.
I have a 2.6l carbie 2nd gen and i have an airfilter ontop of my engine and i want CAI so to do this as far as i can tell i hav to redirect the pipes going into the air filter to a box with a K&N panel or pod. Any suggestions ppl?

Lets see proof of that, a guy at www.diamanteowners.com has a write up that the stock air filter and snorkel hinder the performance, with dyno sheets to prove it. Wheres ur proof?

The best air intake for the 3rd gen magnas is the stock intake and a hi flow panel filter.

Wheres yours? I had a quick look and didn't find these graphs and what not you were talking about?

i dont c how this would be any easier, might look cool though. I'd still have to move the pipes tubes etc.
I think i might hold off of the CAI until i convert it from carbie to efi

in sure on yours all u gotta do is make an adaptor for the CAI pipe to stick on the end of the filter cover thingy......on the bit that pokes out.....where the air goes in.......yeah........connect the pipe to there
do a search for carbie CAI, there is a thread but it got locked, its in 2nd gen section
