Sounds a tiny bit high but the pull type clutch kit for magnas is very expensive. Check to see how much a heavier duty one is before going through with it. I had a Daikin one put in my old TE for circa $1000.

yeah i just had mine done about 4 weeks ago, and it cost me $950 - the daikin kit was 550, and labour was 400. I shopped around and this was the cheapest quote i got from someone who knew what they were doing.
Also: beware of getting just anyone to replace it, the pull-types are more difficult and time consuming to replace, and so you would want someone who has done one before to do it, otherwise you could be back - again, and again, and again. :D
good luck anyway.

Thats what im worried about if i just take it anywhere.... i will look into heavier duty clutches next week sometime and see how they price up. that price is just an estimated maximum, labour could be cheaper depending on how long it takes. :doubt:

yeah, that quotes was to replace the rear main seal aswell as get the flywheel machined. and about cheaper pricing... dont you work for mitsu? :P lol
mine cost me $850 for a daikan couple of years ago.

100% sure its factory clutch brought it at 80 000k's and the guy said he hasnt changed the clutch yet and he had it from new and said its something to be aware of.
so i dont know why he would tell me that he hasnt replaced the clutch yet when i was thinknig of buying his car if it was not true .
the clutch is startong to slip in higher revs though now

ive got 210,000k's and it had the original clutch when i got my car too. mine is only starting to slip at higher revs. however, im thinking more of selling it now as i dont really need it anymore, its only been a novelty for the last 2 years now anyway... :)
ive heard that clutchs can last from 50k's to 250k's depending on whose driving
thanks for the offer anyway magnus - much appreciated. its amazing how good you guys on amc are
Ive done 120k on my original clutch. Mind you I didnt have the car from knew.
Its starting to slip with heavy load though.
I did a hill start the other day with the car full of mates and the boot full of camping stuff and the thing just reved out.
Do not get a mitsu clutch though. Definatly go a heavy duty one.
