Hi All im new here. I just purchased a 99 Verada EI. Just have an issue with the traction control. My problem is i push the button labeled tcl but it wont disable. On start up the two lights come on and then turn off which i beleive is normal but when i I push the button nothing happens. Has anyone encountered this issue. Im not too fussed about it but i would prefer it to be operational. If anyone has any thoughts what the problem may be please post. I have performed a search but havent found anything specific as yet.
Best Regards

Dunno about magnas, but in my dads falcon one must push and hold the button until the light comes on saying TCL is switched off. Try that
In my tj sports once you push the tcl button the light comes on and it is disabled.

Thanks for the replies peoples yeah tried to hold it for a few seconds made no difference. Might disconnect the battery for 30 odd mins hopefully it will reset everything and it starts working again. If anyone has any other ideas or has had this problem and found a solution im all ears.
Regards
maybe the previous owner only ever drove it with this disabled and has blown the globe that makes it light up......have u tried to lose traction yet?

Globe is fine. I am 100% sure it was fine when i test drove the car initially. Noticed it last night when i went to turn it off. Further to this issue. I tested the tract control and it is deffinetly active. Only problem is i cant turn the sucker off. The button doesnt do squat.

hey i have the same model as yours,if both lights come on upon turning the key to the on position and your traction control is working then the switch behind the button must be dicky

Could be might be time for some surgery. How hard is it to remove the plastic surround around the cluster.

Ok here is the update. Downloaded the tech manual of the link provided on this forum followed the flow charts etc looks like the symptoms were the switch assembly. As mentioned previously carlos suspected the tcl switch. Carlos was correct took the suround of the cluster unplugged the switch and plugged it back in a couple of times. Bingo she works like a charm. Well done carlos. Thanks to all who assited. Im happy as now. It actually does skids on take off. Nice..
