a few months ago i purchased 16 inch Speedy Ravens with brand new tyres for $500-not bad. The only problem is that they were painted a gold colour similar to Booya's paint job. It doesn't look too bad but I would prefer the original chrome colour.
Does anyone know a good product I could use to remove the paint and them polish them back up? I don't want to damage the wheels though, also could the paint have already damaged the wheels? Any ideas anyone? Will it be easy?
Just post some reply
Cheers

u could try using some paint thinner and other products like that, best goin to an auto place or even bunnings or some hardware place and ask them for products.........

hmm...that's interesting. If it was done properly then the chrome was probably sand blasted off and then it was painted..so removing the paint will leave you with bare wheels that will probably need rechroming.
Paint stripper will get rid of the paint and wont damage the metal, shouldn't damage the chrome underneath (if there is any).
Paint stripper can be a little unpredictable with what it eats up and doesnt sometimes though.
You could try any of the multitude of graffitti removing products. Wattyl makes one, there is another one called Muck Off.

i rang a place and they are currently in an acid bath which will remove all the paint, this will take a few days. He said underneath it would be alloy! What does this look like?
So does anyone have a pic of what alloy looks like

Oh so it wasnt painted over chrome or anything? Painted from the factory?
That makes sense then
Alloy will look like bare metal.
Then you will need it sealed and chromed or whatever you want done to it :)
