I'd say he's asking, whats the best sound system possible on a no budget system, which is how long is a piece of string?
The more speakers you add, the better it becomes (laid out carefullly of course). Maybe a better question is, what set of speakers for each application are the best?

The more speakers you add, the better it becomes (laid out carefullly of course).
Usually the more speakers you add the worse it becomes... Some of the best systems have 2 way splits and 1 sub.
Instead of more speakers, aim for fewer high quality speakers.

Tim also forgot to stipulate, high quality speakers = Alpine.

Carefully laid out if you added another pair of the same quality splits, you'd get more volume with the same sound quality, of course there'd be a limit to how many you can actually fit before it negates the effects, but that depends on the cars layout etc.

Tr-Envy your digging a grave for yourself arguing about SQ with TIM.
i'd just keep your mouth quiet.....you wont beat him lol.
he'll soon bring his cancellation of frquencies crap into it....then his other rebounding of sound waves and yada yada yada.....
just a reminder tim.....not everyone wants an $800 front stage....some people just want $200 6x9's...
M4DDOG
18-01-2006, 02:37 PM
lol i understand the cancellation etc. thats what i mean by well laid out and calculated etc. I mean if it was prooved that you couldn't have a 2nd pair NO MATTER where you put them, then yeh i'd agree. I'm talking totally custom here though, like hanging them off the roof if it sounded good lol.

You are better off with 1 pair of splits than two. You only want each frequency being covered by one driver, otherwise your image will be blurred and you will have no stage.
Instead of running two pairs of the same splits, you would be better off increasing the power.
Is that why you have soo many damn speakers??
less is more, keep it simple. The more speakers you add, the more processing you need to fix the inherent problems that come with more speakers. If you want it louder, instead of adding rears etc, just buy proper speakers in the first place and a real amp.
Show cars run two or three pairs of splits, and sound like ass. it may be loud, but anyone can make it loud...
@tufftr, yes not everyone wants a $xxx amount front stage, but going out and buying two pairs of splits for twice as much as one pair is a total waste. You dont need to spend a fortune, just spend the right money in the right areas.
I realise very well that some people are on a budget, check out my post in the $1000 system thread... That system that I posted up would demolish any of the others there and is cheap as chips.
Im just doing a mates install into a VT, h/u, Dyn tweeters, 6" Morel mids, 12" Alpine ZR sub, 4 channel amp. sounding very nice atm all of this for under $2k total cost incl labour, He's going to be competing in caasq next year as well.
Some people may want $200 6x9's. Other people want good SQ. Many people have never heard a well setup system in their life.
Peace
Tim

Tim never said anything of the sort... :P
Although I dont mind their processors and their older subs and amps.

What tim says is very true. My entry level front stage is very good but then I hear a proper $1000+ set of splits mounted perfectly.... I think my car sounds very good, but it is set up to please me. Lots of bass and mid bass and the highs come naturally with the Boston splits but they are mounted in the kicks so it is ok. If I want louder I will get splits that handle more power and add another sub as the G5 will take a little more power but not really 1200WRMS everyday for a 3db increase.
More power = more control = more db.
It is all about how you mount your components and the work you are prepared to do to make them sound as good as they can.

whats the best for speakers and sub. i got the amp from sony Xplode is that better or do i have to cut it down more thanks for mocking me guys
s_tim_ulate
20-01-2006, 10:51 AM
Please cut it down more.
What is your budget?
What music?
What are you after? Loud Doof? Or a nice sound?
for absolute power go Bose, but they are upto/from (cant remember which) $4000 a speaker set.
I bought cadence splits from ralliasrt 410 and i'm really happy with them, for a top of the range sound system that is all one brand, take a look at alpine. Pioneer is overrated for the top of the line but are good for the amount you would spend on them. With sony xplode, i have had mixed responses, some ppl say they are good others say not good enough, but i think they have some good subs/amps/speakers/headunit (one of them isnt so good but i cant remember)
Good luck with the sound system, it is the most expensive thing you can do to your car which can be stolen (apart from the car itself). Make sure you check to see if your insurance company will insure you, and get an after market alarm and an immobiliser if you want.

Bose sucks ass
Get real audio
Not advertisements
Anyway i think its safe to say we were talking about car audio, not home audio anyway.
....bose makes car audio, they are better than most speakrs except they arent so good for clarity.
I'd say this sub would be up there with the best...
I'd say this sub would be up there with the best...
MTX Jackhammer. It is a bit big for your average car audio, in a magna it would take up a **** load of power and boot space. Not only that it has the ability to go louder than you can hear without going deaf, going deaf as in really fast.
Mr İharisma
20-01-2006, 01:35 PM
That sub is actually quite shyt, many a sub will kill that in SPL and SQ... At the moment DD reigns supreme in SPL.. not much is louder than a properly set up 9900 series. Not the best for SQ though but then you have Treo, Vibe, ID, Boston, Hertz, Focal etc.
I think some people need to stop looking at JB and Strathfield Car audio for "quality car audio." Anyone who trys to sell me crap looses my respect unfortuately.
