Hey guy ok this is another mass order for 2nd GEN Verada aka parabolic headlights. Same as last time, pls indicate your interest and i'll see how many I can get. Some info for now .... est prices for 1 PAIR (USED) is $350 but i'll be trying to get em for $300 if we have enough orders. Shipment anywhere in australia is $30 flat due to size weight and packaging used. Pickup from me is possible if you live around brisbane, however an initial deposit of $200 is required after I have confirmed the TOTAL amount of orders available. Honest forum member not out to rip anyone off you can check my last parabolic thread for pics and comments ! Let me know via PM !

in one word NO
what ones are harder to find gen2 or gen3???
[TUFFTR]

they are both very hard to find, so if you find some GET THEM
At my work i still have one TR TS diamante nose cut minus an indicator and the bar grille and the boss only wants $400 for it, has parra's too, it's good when some people have no idea what this stuff is worth, and i'm not gonna tell him coz he is anti magna,
the same guy swapped 3rd gen parra's for standard headlights

What about a mass order for us 3rd Gen owners? I know a few people with TJ's, you would do good business out of the order I would place! P.M me if you can do it!

hey all thanks for the interest in the headlights. Well to start off they will most prob come with the orignal sucky yellow bulbs so I can really do anything about that. MO will last till abt end of March to give as many people the time to save up for these babies. And yep they will ONLY fit the 2nd gen magnas, me still looking around for 3rd gens Parabolics but some people are asking crazy prices for those even for secondhand ones. Keep me informed for those interested and i'll get back to you all soon !

rssid - make a little list in your 1st post of people interested so you can also keep reference for yourself, when people pay deposits etc, you can update it aswell as payments come through to give everyone an idea of how things are going.
Im in though :)
i might be in later, when i get the money.
i probably wont have money for parabolics this time round. But i thought i might just let u know.:D
Maybe next time

Yup those are the ones, they will come with the wiring and harnesses and will fit directly into the brackets without any fuss ! You can check with the guys who have picked up their sets from me, assured excellent condition without damage I'm quite a picky guy so i only accept lights that I would use or put into my own car(yes i had a 2nd gen before too).

ok cool ... 4 guys total .... closer to the target 5 we need, will keep this mass order alive till about mar or so .... gives the rest some time to scrape the cash together for the kewl lights. BTW guys its the full amount to be transfered to my account before I make the purchase as I do not have the cash to fork out front for all the lights(me car needs new suspension too) and as last time one guy ordered but went mia on me and I had quite a time trying to find a replacement buyer.

if we get say 10 people in for this, how dramatically will the price come down?
SideWinder
26-02-2006, 07:06 PM
not much id assume
im a salesman by occupation, and i generally dont knock all that much of prices for good if bought in bulk...because they still cost me the same amount in the end, so unless theres a crapload of markup on them, i cant see them coming much further down
rssid
02-03-2006, 04:39 PM
dont think there will be a second order as its quite a job to organise another one just for a few people only. Will ty and get as many pieces as possible and at the lowest pricing possible.
dimi108
02-03-2006, 07:02 PM
Like I said, i'm up for it and i'm going to allocate money for the order (instead of pay my credit card) on pay day which is 10th March.
I think this is a great oppurtunity to finally come around and grab those paras and make your 2nd gen stand out :D

1. Theres only 1 wiring harness with 2 wires coming outta your headlights when you PULL OUT the WHOLE headlight unit. Cut both the NEW and OLD wiring (the 2 wires) harness off (use a pair of pliers or scissors dosent matter) BUT LEAVE A BIT of wire on each side i.e. don't cut directly at the end of the wires. Some where in the middle of the wires is suffecient.
2. Swap the harness around. i.e. old harness into NEW headlight units by exposing a bit more of the copper wire by removing A BIT of the rubber around the wires on the headlight and harness wires.
3. TWIST the 2 wires together ! Does NOT matter which wire goes where (TRUST ME) just form a complete circuit thats all there is to it !
4. Get a bit of black tape and cover the exposed copper bit of wire.
5. Reinstall headlight units ! Don't forget to reconnect the harness for the parker lights !
6. ENJOY !
N.B. If the Parker lights DO not light up at first pls CHECK that the GLOBES are in working condition before tearing into the wires again(not necessary). As these are second handsets the GLOBES that come with the units MAY NOT WORK !!
If possible I reccomend BUYING NEW Parker lights ($5) BEFORE installing them into the headlights! ALSO THE PARKER lights are DIFFERENT from the ones in the 2nd Gen Car so PLS CHECK B4 YOU BUY THEM !
i.e. BEFORE installing them, take the parker lights out of the NEW headlights, go to supercheap auto / autobahn or whereever you normally buy car parts and show them the ones FROM the NEW headlights(about $5). THIS IS TO PREVENT ANY CONFUSION !
The Parabolics use the SAME GLOBES from the Main Headlights (H4) and Hi Beam (Forgot which ones) lights so you can replace them all at once or reuse the ones from your OLD Headlights ..... hmmmmm philips blue vision plus .......... hahahahh

Oops you will notice that the wire harness is differerent just follow the above steps to get it working ! I have done it myself and no troubles !
GoTRICE
11-04-2006, 01:38 PM
i'll add it'd be smarter to test before you install them back into place also i would be one to use solder and heat shrink to keep the job proffessional and tidy

1:30pm, getting it started...
Bit of a ***** getting those side indicator lights off to begin with. Saw the wiring harness and went WTF? may have to take another crack at it.
[edit: 4:50pm] OK, so whoever had the car previously (we're talking about eight years ago, I'm the second owner for all that time) had a front end bingle and some numb-nuts epoxied the front indicators in place! TUFFTR, thanx for the advice but ended up doing the hard yards. Soldering in the harnesses right now (and yes, I have heatshrink). Hmm, not much natural light left in Melbourne. Better work fast... who stole my floodlights? :D
[edit 6:10pm] finally all done. The problem with moving house is remembering where everything is. You know, small lil' things such as where the heatshrink, solder and soldering iron were in which boxes! That's all done and also decided to lightly tint the the front indicators... isn't that the current flavour of the other thread being clear vs orange indicators?
Pics up soon, thanx again for organising the group buy for the parabolic lights rssid, much appreciated!

BuzzPuppy

The wires were the easy bit, let's not blow things out of proportion here! It's just the main DC power... two green wires in, two green wires out. The Magna and Verada had different connectors. Just a case of cutting off the ends and transferring it to the current setup.
I know you're waiting Dimi for the photos of my ride. I am so pissed off... someone backed into the front of my car and drove off this evening!!! No notes or anything so my front bar has taken a hit (thank goodness they missed the paras!) and my number plates took a big hit too. There goes that photo opportunity.
