ok so heres the deal stereo has been working fine for the past two months and all of a sudden now when i turn it on all i get is this loud screeching noise doesnt matter whether i'm in cd or am fm or what volume i'm at...... i got all eclipse gear 6 1/2 splits up front 6 x 9's rear sub and head unit all amped. all started when i was listening to some music low volume and turned it up a bit music kinda cut out and this screeeching started :cry: :cry:

Sounds like an RCA is touching metal, check all the RCA plugs are plugged into the back of the headunit and check all the RCA plugs are plugged into the amps correctly, if they're ok check the actual cable itself to make sure it hasn't been stripped or anything and is touching any metal.
If speaker wire was touching metal i would think that the amp would go into protection mode but just in case check all your speaker cabling as well.
Best way to test RCA cables is to remove them a plug at a time from the amp until the screeching stops.

Localise the problem first and then try to fix it :D See which channels are making the noise, how many and what kind of amps are you running ( a 4 channel and a 2channel amp? ).

2 4 channel amps. i think i should just take it back to where i had it installed considering i am a major noob especially when it comes to this kind of shi t.but i'll have a look anyways
