I have a Carby TP..

Why does it only rev to like 3000 and then sit there and have no more pulling power.. Is it just mine or is it carbies in general..?

Hmm, if it's revving to 3000rpm and that's it then you my friend have a problem.

the id say the secondary's on the carby are siezed, you need to get the carby rebuilt or maybe do the weber conversion use the search function. it should pull hard to at least 4750-5000rpm.

Okay.. Anyone in QLD got a carby for it..?

If not.. How much does it cost for a rebuild..?

Including labour? Too much. You'd be better of getting a Magna book for your vehicle (which tells you how to do everything) and getting a rebuild kit and having a sunday afternoon off.

if your going to keep the car and the rest of motor is good just spend the money and get it rebuilt by a carby pro well worth it in the long run

Carbs on Magnas are sh*t and a common cause of trouble. If it isnt revving above 3000 rpm then chances are the secondary side of the carby isnt opening.

Here's a little tip - have an assistant rev the car while you have a look over the carby with the air filter cover off. The fuel should be a light mist in there. If it's dripping it's rebuild time.

There's only 166 thousand Ks on the clock..

If nobody buys it.. I'm just gonna give it to the wreckers.. I'm too busy.. Haven't got time to mess around with the car now..

My TM died with only 180 on the clock, but I doubt it was ever looked after.
The carbys on these are a joke.

That's sounds like what happened to my 1978 Mitsubishi Scorpin.

I bought it from a High School automotive class for $200, but for some reason, they installed the cam wrong. Can't remember exactly what it was.

But after driving it for about 6 months, the car wouldn't rev over 3000, so I sold it to someone for $200. They were able to fix it and told me it was the cam.
