By the way my car is a 96 TE V6 manunal.
Please no one recomend Mitsubishi because they rip you off, bad!!!
I live in Melbourne, Blackburn so if anyone knows of good cheap machanics it would really help.

Mitsubishi is the most expensive by far. Everything i've ever wanted to do was at least like $150 more on like $700 service elsewhere.
...........Back to the topic though!!!
How much?
Guess getting something replaced under warrenty for free
is a bit differant to actually paying for it,where he can go to
any repairer to do the job but has to pay
Servicing is not covered under warranty now is it
Not on a 1 DAY old car either.

Dude MITSUBISHI quotes are the highest. IT is a 10 year old car and many other smaller places like Ultra tune will do it for much cheaper. You also can haggle a lot more at smaller outlets.
I just wanted to ask if anyone has recently done it, price and a good cheap place. Not debate Mitsubishi's low prices
dont think jap wanted a service
because the water pump has gone and needed it replaced
so while doing that as he said he can get the rest fixed up
my suggestion is th ring around tell them exactly what you want and get a quote
even try mitsu you might be serprised
but it will be allot who ever does it

Yer i plan on ringing around tommorow morning and though i could get a head start by asking you boys. Yer i will definately try MITSU, but from previous experiences i'm not expecting low prices.

Good man - that's all i ask.
Remember also that there are reasons why sometimes their prices may be higher.
Mitsubishi Genuine parts for one.
think you will find most people have done there 100k service with mitsu
replacing the cam belt and back plugs is around the 6-8 hundred mark
if you find cheaper let us know :)
See reason why may be more expensive above.
you're lookin at a lot (close to the $1000) even if ya don't go through mitsa, timing belts are like $400 - $500 including ya service + $300 - $400 for the pump depending where ya go, (may be a little less for the pump if ya get the lot done at the same time and get em to swing you a deal) but it's gonna hurt nomatter where ya take it.
(p.s. i had the same work done on my 96 TE V6 Man about 1yr ago)

i'm not sure if i wanna go genuine, your signiture says a lot. how can a fuel tank need to be replaced under warranty??!!
Show what mitsubishi is charging more money for
Fuel tank was replaced because a baffle broke off inside the tank.

Don't know about the plugs, but I rang around last month on Bris Southside for TB &WP.
Mitsubishi around $700, others ranged from $500 to $800. That was for a TS. Sold the TS instead and bought a TL so don't have to worry about it for another few years, I hope.

thanks a lot for your reply i'm finding it generally that price.
And TL-R how old is the car?
How can so many things go wrong in a brand new car?
its a late 2003 model.
Most of the problems are with trim etc so as long as there is no major engine or mechanical probs i'm not too fussed about warranty issues.

I had my timing belt, water pump, rear plugs and the timing belt tensioner replaced at 85K (60mths) and all up it cost $900, but $240 of that was the tensioner!! That was at an independant mechanic.
