Hey fellas...

a question to all the car stereo exsperts here:

After installing my setup and testing it, everything was fine.
Suddenly, for no obvious reason, the stereo sound just slowly fades away and dies...

I know it must be the amps - that much is clear, as the HU keeps on going....

What i do not know is:
What causes this slow fading out?
The previous Amps I had all cut off suddenly if they shorted or if there was any disturbance...these here slowly fade?

My question: Is this symptomatic of a short circuit somewhere ?

@ Fly: Can u help again, mate?

Cheers

Are you sure it's the amp?

Did you tape up all the head unit's speaker outs so they don't short?

I once shorted my speaker outs and the head unit would slowly overhead and fade, and then when cooled again it's fine.

The HU is fine....all wires secure....

I'd check all the earths for the deck and amp make sure they have a good earth point otherwise they will do what your having problems with. run for a while then just die off.

Does the amp turn off completely? If so it's prob going into protection as you are drawing too much current

Is this the crappy amp we installed? Or did u get another one?

Yes , both amps turn off completely.....and yeah its still the same power cable...I think I found the problem though.....It seems to be the earthing of the amps....like HLUCIN8 said.......I scratched off much more paint and so far all runs good.

Thanks for the feedback!
