Anyone else noticed how easy it is to get a wagon to oversteer?
I have a KH with lowered king springs and magna wagon sports shocks and i cant get over how easy it is to get it to oversteer even with good new wide tyers on it. All you have to go is power hard into a corner then back off all power while going through the corner and the ass kicks out so easily then you power it again and you can get the ass sliding out right round very easily. Havent noticed it in the sedans but the wagon is so easy.

Anyone else noticed this? Must be strange seeing a Magna with the bum out around a corner.

Yes, and most of the MM05 crew can agree to that.

What brand and size of tyres do you run?

I've only encountered oversteering on a couple of ancient Goodyear Eagle NCT 215/60/16 tyres.

I'm running 15" RE92's for now (until I can afford to buy proper tyres), and seems a lot less prone to oversteering.

I think its to do with using live rear axel as opposed to IRS.

Nope, I drive mine pretty hard but never had the back end out. I have 17inch wheels with Grid 2 tyres, and the thing handles pretty much the same as the tj sedan i had.

could be the wheel size maybe.... anyone else had this happen with standard/non-standard wheel sizes?

Had my TJ wagon now for just under a month. Never experienced oversteer. Running Falken 235/40/18s all round. I DO notice that the front wheels are far too prone to spin (which is more than a little disconcerting, after driving rear drives for so long now!). Hard to find room in the engine bay for a couple of sand bags!

You need better throtle control (not sandbags), applying too much throtle in a heavy big FWD car is bound to understeer. It takes a slightlly different driving style between FWD and RWD cars.

I've had slight oversteer only on a couple of occations in my TF Sedan (need too much spee to get it to happen, hoping a rear sway will help)

I use to drive a TJ Verada wagon at work and couldnt beleive how easy it was to get the back out. It had standard tyres 215/16 and on highway approaches (big long corners) lift off oversteer was very easy.

I just run the standard KH rims but have 225 55 16 turanzas on there which are great. Love em.

Never had oversteer in my KJ2, then again I have 2 prams in the back which is probably enough to keep the rear end in place. That said, my old 121 Metro would oversteer very easily due to the stiff rear springs and no weight.
