hey guys..... in the past couple of days, ive noticed that my clutch is slipping. Its a newish clutch {about 8-9 months old} and its starting to slip.... apparantly it can be adjusted by tightening the clutch cable..... does anyone know where the clutch cable is on a TF?

every gear im in..... when i flatten my foot.... the revs will go up, then drop back down and take off..... its really worrying me because if i dont fix it... the clutch with fail to grip and leave me stranded on the side of the road.... so i need to fix it asap. This problem has happened before, i took it to the mechanic... and all he did was tighten the clutch cable.

so again... does anyone know how to tighten/know where the clutch cable is?

thanks guys,

James.

You sure it wasn't 'loosen' the clutch cable? ie then the clutch would engage more?.

If you 'tightened' the clutch cable, that would mean that the clutch is not fully engaged and therefore more prone to slipping.

i thought it was a hydraulic system, but i could be wrong.

but i think you're better off taking it back to the place that did it and telling them whats going on, because that shouldn't be happening. The other thing being that if you're not quite sure what you're doing, and start playing about with these bits, you can forget all hope of the mechanic who did it paying any attention.

thats my own 2 cents worth.

where did u get it done anyhow? coz some of the brand-name places etc i know have a 20 000 or 40 000 km warranty on the job they do.

Your better off taking it back, the last thing you would want to do is do something wrong and make it worse.
