Yes you can it's called and electronic BOV.
Buuuuuuuuuuuut the question begs to be asked....
Why the hell would you want one!?
No offence mate! :D

WTF for?!
If you enjoy being smoked at the lights and laughed at for faking a turbo.. Then yes you can...
Although you would need enough back pressure to produce the pshhht..

It's alright mate, no probs with asking questions :D
A BOV on a naturally aspirated motor will do nothing, and when people realise you don't have a turbo, it'll make you look stupid. That's what most people will think anyway.

my mates and i heard a ****in funny thing one day... walking down the street one night (on our way to the pub) when i guy in his Excel takes off from the lights (with his window down)....
anyway, when he changed gear he made the noise himself!!! (yes, out of his mouth!!!!)  ROLMHO!!! god, we bagged him, and damn it really set off what was to be a tops night!!!
Now Kewl, i suggest you don't try that in public....

You don't need pressure at all Bain0.. it's electronic with a peaker in the engine bay to produce the sound and it's activated by throttle position. :D
I've seen it and heard it... sounds real too LOL

There is nothing worse then some kid in a Hyundai Excel with a massive bodykit and a 4" muffler. And to top it off they have those little glowing windscreen washer nozzel lights.

Yeah, but just remember there are plenty of people who say the same thing about Magnas.
The blow off valve comes into play with a turboed engine. Get one when you turbo your engine. If you think it's a cool sound then get an electronic one, it's your car, but expect to be laughed at. As far as people are concerned, it's probably the height of rice. Heck, if you turbo your car you'll probably still get laughed at, (stereotypes invloved here). Don't take these or others comments personally, it's just the way it is.

yeh i'm sure their are! let them say what they want. But to "Sick" up an excel....... think about it!
You couldn't squeeze anything out of it's engine.!! even if you had the money to do it......excels are what.. 12 grand brand new? if they want to do something up then get anything, anything else but an excel
and whats the point of making the car look any good (even the best body kit looks like crap) when it runs the 1/4 mile is 24 seconds :D
Atleast magnas are all class!! and actually look good
;)

BOM-BOM!
Wrong. SuperCharger kits for excels give a 70% Power Increase, Hot 4's (i think, one of them mags) had a whole write up a while back.
I think they were worth about 6-7k. But yeah, its still just an excel.

Remember that most of the car enthusiast population says that about magnas too...

i still think that Excel's are still a more 'popular' modded car.
ok, i mean, for ever 8 "modified" excel's there would only be one magna that has more than just mag wheels

the excewls are actually better then the 1.5L SOHC lancers and faster then the 1.8L lancers too
lancers are more widely done up with bodykits then excels are... esp around perth
yeah but excels are CUTE(girls) = UGLY(guys)
nah man any car that has a powerplant that can turn heads is awesome!!!
my mates mini... kicks arse!! and its .. a mini!!!
Love it hey!!!
I like a car that dont look special but is...
An excel that looks standard... but kicks ass would be sweet!
Just like a magna!!!!!!
As for the electronic BOV

RPW do performance mods on Excels and say they are resopinsive units. Ask Dave what they're like.
Once again today I got laughed at for doing up my Magna. Just makes me want to get a loan and get the TT kit, but I won't. This time the guy owns a Gemini . But he spend plenty of dosh on his car for it to brake so I know where he's coming from. Another guy said that it doesn't matter what car you do, if it's fun and you're interested then it's the hobbie side that's the drive. Can't agree more. That and blasting unsuspecting [insert hated make and model] drivers at the lights

alright then, fellas!
Sell your magna and buy an excel!
I'm just saying they look pathetic when someone "tries" to make them look good!
if i'm not mistaken if you want to mount a S/C on an excel engine... new pistons, new cams.......... new internal everything??
i'm sure it can be done.. but how much??
I'm sorry if i got something wrong, but i'm not an excel enthusiast.... unlike others here
