Hi, I've just found a cheap TL LS model (2003), but the ad says it's a front wheel drive. I thought all LS models were AWD (?)

Only the TW LS was AWD only

Hi Dan,
Thanks for clarifying. Is the TW model the one that has the "Series II" badge? Talk about confusing :D

Yep - most should anyway. Headlights should have the same background colour as the bodywork, rather than black too.

Yeah the Series 2 is the TW. In the TW i'm pretty sure it was Sedan only as well. Whereas witht he TL the LS was available in both Sedan and Wagon Format

There is a FWD TW LS wagon. Can't see the point in buying it though, not much different from an ES inside (same horrible headunit!), with those ugly 15" alloys. No foggies either .

Oh well, obviously not the bargain I thought it was :) Also got excited by a TL VR sedan, until I realised it was front wheel drive too... back to the drawing board.

Can't recommend them highly enough. don't forget the TJ/KJ AWD - its the same drivetrain. If you can get a red VRx AWD though

Yeah, an AWD VRX would be sweet... but I'd go for black, not red ;)

Mind you, if you've got a need for a wagon, none of the above are too difficult to change?! (Head unit - 1 1/2 hours, 18's with tyres $1400 (if ya know someone!) foggies.... 2 hours?).
You'd reckon the TW would be a better car than the TJ, and I'm stoked with the TJ wagon (FWD took some getting used to!).
Do what serves you best, not what anyone else thinks. You'll usually wind up with something different to the norm. ie: a super low, fully body kitted VRX sports might not suit you if you live on a property with a 2 km driveway, and want to transport your drum kit.
It's great to ask and accept advice, but the final decision should be about what you really want, not what I think is the coolest thing for your bucks.
Whatever you buy, take your time and make sure that you get the best one for your money.
