has anyone heard of changing the timing by a few degrees for better performance??

Yeah advancing the timing.
Just be careful you dont get pinging, if you do, retard that timing asap.
You may have to always run 98 octane petrol tho with adv. timing.

I'd give it a miss until you get yourself a greddy or something where you can do it very accurately
And if you're prepared to run 98 pulp all the time, then it's fine.

I have done it in my 4 cylder and a lancer with AWSOME REsaults...:D i mean AWSOME!!!
but u have to play around with it to get the right degrees... of ignition ect...
get some one who knows what they are dowing other wise give it a miss!!

That's what I intend to do with the Stage 2 cams, I've got the adjustable cam sprockets and my plan is to adjust the timing on the dyno for realtime results...
