I want to put a roof console / sunglasses holder pocket thingy out of a Verada or Series 2 TJ VR-X in my series 1 VR-X. Has anyone done this before, or know if it is a straight fit? I'm not too concerned about the wiring loom for the map lights (though it'd be nice), but will it fit in the Series 1 roof or is it a completely different roof liner with a bulge there for the console to mount on ?

Like in Commodores and some other cars. I could have sworn I have seen one in a Magna. Maybe I am talking s**t. Does any one have a sunglasses compartment in the roof just behind the rear vision mirror ?

Yup, just looked in my workshop manual. It shows only room/map light assembly for TH/KH-TL/KL :redface:

I wonder how hard it would be to ad in one from a commodore/other - food for thought.

I've even contemplated mounting the commodore central light + map lights pod in addition to the map lights I've already got

the one in the old vectra, was just a piece of plastic i rekon itd fit in any car. speak to some of the 4wd roof mounted console kinda places, they do smaller stuff as well, and its not all ugly stuff

Your reverse lights are in the tailgate. AKA boot lid. The two clear lights either side of the rear
number plate. See my sig.
