i work for mitsubishi dealer as a mechanic, n yet to find on the part finder if i can get a diamante boot garnish in australia. if anyone knows how to get me one let me know. n also does anyone make an after market set of verada or vrx head lights to fit a THsi? i looked them up but retail for 420 each genuine, n not much cheaper for employee price....

There were a few members on the forums that used to sell a non-genuine version of the parabolic headlights (im pretty sure) but I doubt you would be able to source them elsewhere.. and even then they were selling them for $400 per pair.

Best bet is to look at some jap importers as some dont know the real value of the diamante cuts.. My headlights were sourced from a jap wrecker, and the diamante garnish might be found in a rear cut there as well.. Otherwise, keep an eye out at late model mits wreckers.. but they will still set you back around $300-400 for the pair.

Time to make some calls...

Boot garnish, Ask for Magna TE-TH Altera, I think. Those people should able to get it for you about $74.00-$78.00 brand new? (sorry this was for Chrome Magna) else is Verada you be looking for. The diamante ones can be searched from wreckers like what Mysti has pointed.

I have not seen a fake parabolics, can someone show me any URL etc? Not that I have doubts but I am interested to know. Pls dont ask me to do a search, I have been reading up paras for past 4 days ever since I just purchased my set from JO_King. Am still confused which wire goes where all the diagrams are either not clear enough or probably I dont understand it yet.

chrome th 'magna' boot garnish is $150 trade and $200 retail from mitsu... bloody expensive but looks hot! we brought ours a few weeks ago from mitsu dealer.

as for diamante bits, there were a few garnishes and headlights on ebay a while ago... check there :) (some were in australia others were in USA)

Sorry is there a difference between TE-TH? I bought mine form retail too and it was $78.00
I thought the boot grarnish is all the same for TE-TH, just asking, learn new things everyday. Can someone confirm this? You sure you are talking about the Boot and not the Chrome Grille?

I sure know TJ didnt have such thing as I made a fool out of myself the other time. :nuts:

why not? they export diamante to US and NZ. some dealers can get overseas parts too.

I dont see why normal Mistubishi dealers would bring in Diamante lettering. (not disagreeing that they didnt). As Australian make their own Garnishes (thats what I feel). So probably would not be in their part list. reread and saw that NZ also has it probably only a few dealers would have that part. Whereas a euro wrecker would have higher chances for such parts.

Ur no dont get me wrong, I really like to see it. I was just wondering for $200.00 was this garnish at all full metal? I am serious when I asked it wasnt meant to offend anyone, as mine is plastic?

the chick above got a wagon iirc why dont you call mitsu on monday and confirm you can get a normal one and black out magna yourself no ones forcing you to buy a th one. :nuts:

Urmm...I only said I was interested to know about this, anyway lets not make an arguement about it. I was wrong to assume all Magna TE-TH chrome garnish were the same. And till you mentioned about the embossed black paint, I didnt realised it (honestly). And I learn something new from it. (Thank you) Was curious to know if the TH chrome garnish was metal since we are paying really big bucks for it IMO $200.00 is not cheap, I helped an AMC member to get the KH Xi chrome grille for $189.00 so the price was a concerned whether it was even the right object we were speaking comparing the price difference of a Grille and a boot garnish. I have not seen this chrome garnish yet so it is rare as it seems and thus why the price is that high.

This is what we got for $150 trade price and were told it was $199 retail.
It is chrome plated with MAGNA embossed in black paint and a genuine part.
We had a heck of a time to get it, 3rd time lucky from a different mitsu dealer though (see my thread in vic area if want to read more)
We have no idea whether they are the same as the one you are thinking of as we got this for my TH wagon and its normally on a TH altera wagon. We have only had it from the mitsu dealer 2 weeks today...

Also: the grille we got is chrome for it and we only paid $100 delivered brand new in box from ebay...

The normal Chrome Boot garnish were without the black embossed, and the guys at mitsubishi never mentioned this to me, I believe they just took it I wanted a chrome boot garnish. Thus is new information to me. I think I have not seen it on any Magna in WA though there might be at least one.

As much as so to speak, Magna wreck in WA didnt even know there is a such thing as a Chrome "Magna" boot till I pointed out to them. So even experts dont know everything.

Again I like all types of boot garnish, there is even the normal laser edge version that looks neat.

i got the chrome thingy with the word magna written in black... was $78 from mitsu parts. i think its off a th sports or something the guy said. the one for the wagon is a hell of a lot dearer, but i havent seen one before, looks good! :D

and i can see how the wagon one would be twice the price! its huge! looks very nice though, dont see many around on the wagons!

Yeah chrome is deffinately on the Altera LS :) thats why i dont want to debadge mine cos its the only thing that makes it an Altera from the outside
