So how would this "production" work?? are you'se saying you will be selling kits w/ instructions, or assembled units??
Being a lazy SOB - I'm all for assembled units provided the price is right....... but for you guys that would involve significant outlay...... surely you would need to buy a set of paras (or two sets, one of each type) and sell them on an exchange basis.....
Anyway - good on ya's for trying something different and pulling it off. I don't think I'd be alone in saying I've always thought "angel eyes" would go exceptionally well with magna parabolic headlights. Best of luck on your little 'venture'!!

Thanks for your response... prety much i think were gonna have 3 options:
1. We sell it as a kit.
2. We have em installed into a set of paras and swap them for ur stock one.
3. We do the instal em for ya.

Lil2L8

i think putting em into tail lights would be overboard but we haven't tryed it
not bad looking.
Have you pressure tested the housing since cracking it open? Dont want them to leak :)
A sure fire way is to drive in a heavy down pour and see if your lights mist up.

28-01-2006, 01:57 PM
will you be putting them on 'both' globes in each light. so in total theres 4 angel eye rings?

Perhaps this is the obvious question that no one has asked, but how legal or otherwise are these?

Are you using Optical Fibre for your angle eye effect?
Ive often wondered about doing the XR6 with them... Dont think i will though.

i'll be very interested if they are legal, made for 2nd gen parabolics (hint hint :P ) and fit for both sets of lights (including weird oval shaped light).

They look great. But are you offering any warranty on your product? what if it does leak? what if you stuff up the process? what if you compramise the quality of the head lights? All the annoying legalities that can get people very peeved :P
The cops will be dodgy with them if they're blue or red wether they are legal or not. Needless to say, I'd looove to get a red set. Legalities anyone?

i'm keen for a bit more info on them.
please pm me when you get some finer details
1 - legalities of them, unlike incar and underbody neons, these would be a tad harder to hide from the cops.
2 - pricing, would you offer a bargain basement price for the angel eye units by themselves and we install them ourselves, right upto a set of parabolics with these installed that we can whip out our old lights and swap it straight over.
when you guys get to production stage please pm me as i would be very interested

Whats the price are we looking at for these?
I think most of them here are afraid to do it themselves and you guys would be likely doing it.
Legal issues wise I think WA is still safe for this, but I rather not comment as if something goes wrong I think its not right to play blaming game.

29-01-2006, 02:44 PM
would it be possible to put the angel eyes over the high beam light so that when your headlights are on you can still see it?
heathyoung
30-01-2006, 07:06 AM
Legality.
OK - word of advice. If you are opening up headlights and modifying them for money, you need to be aware that you are liable if they are found to be a factor in causing an accident.
Unless you include a disclaimer that they (entire headlamp assemblies, NOT just the angel eyes) are for off-road use only.
You are reducing the effectiveness of a safety device on a car (would you remove 5mm off each of your brake pads with a hacksaw? or disable an airbag?) - if you do it on your own car, then you are only liable for accidents you may directly or indirectly cause. If you do it on someone else's - ouch.
Why do you think that I do NOT OFFER headlamp modifications, HID retrofits etc to people.
The angel eyes are covering part of the reflector of the low and highbeam headlamps - you are reducing the amount of light being emitted, and possibly causing glare (through diffusion).
Any modification that reduces the effectiveness of a safety device in a vehicle is illegal.
BTW - WA is not exempt, they follow the federal ADR's like everyone else in Australia.

You can do what you want with your car, don't let me stop you - just some advice as to some of the issues.
BMW can do angel eyes because they do not obstruct the reflector, and the headlights meet the telemetry standards for approval.

A sure fire way is to drive in a heavy down pour and see if your lights mist up.
Better way is to go down to your local car wash pressure spray place and wash your car - specifically hitting the presure spray on the lights from different angels (oops, angles).

Okay, I only have 2 questions...
1. How Much ?
2. Where do I send my 2nd gen Paras ?
They're in a box - haven't installed them yet. So very easy to send to someone.
...any takers for a play with a set of KS verada para's ?

Well said heathyoung, I was exactly thinking along the samelines. eventhough it is a very good effort but the angel eye ring is actually being placed in front of the reflector. which would have reduced the light in front of the car and may also cause glare for on coming traffic.
in BMW angel eyes, the angle ring is around the projector/reflector, hence it dose not obstruct the light.
you need to know that 80% of the after market headlights are non-ADR approved and are imports.
As heath said " mark them as FOr Off road use only" if you really want to go into the production. I think Philips diamond visions and /or crystal vision also come with same wording.

BMW 1s are gas filled and are actually used as the parking lights as to the best of my knowledge and are fitted around the high beam lights and switch off when high beam are on so that no obstruction is caused to the beam. The only possible way that they may be legal is if you had an entire remoulded light housing but i still think that would be very skeptical and probably atract even more attention from the cops anyways.
Lil2L8
30-01-2006, 04:27 PM
i've had a look at mine and they don't look bad cause when u turn the driving light on u can just see the angel light, plus i'm using a very high ohm resitor so the light is dim... but i was told that u san get adjustable resitors so thats the next thing i'm gonna do.

Nah, nothing like that. He's a good bloke, he's doing me a big favour with the Para's and I said I was in no hurry. I had his mobile number but lost it and he hasn't been on AMC for a while so was just getting worried about his well-being.
Now that we know he's okay - let's just leave it alone and wait for his return - patience people.

saw him roughly about a month ago one morning driving past rosanna station while i was waiting for the bus.
I tried to flag him down.. i don't know if he ignored me or didn't see me but I was nearly on the road waving my arms everywhere and he just speed past me.
I reckon he is stuffing alot people around as i have left notes in his letterbox and his car, even spoke to his parents several times regarding my money. All I can say is when or if he does show soon, he better have a good explination why he hasn't been in contact!!!!!!

Had words on the phone tonight with one of the members who has money owed from this individual. Looks like there is another person on here who may have lost some goods to this individual. My suggestion to anyone who knows the person who has obviously taken off with someones money and possibly someone elses goods is to let them know that people on the forum dont like to get shafted. Internet in general and forums like these have a funny way of getting back to you. I have seen this done on another forum and the individuals life was turned upsidedown due to non payment of goods. Eventually he paid.
To the person who has taken of with the dollars and some hardware if your reading this wake up to yourself. Do the right thing.
