My tp exec has finally started puffing smoke on startup. Apparently this is a telltale sign of the valve stem seals needing replacing. I found this article:
http://magna.trynsave.net/index.php?title=Valve_stem_seal_replacement

and i wondered if that is all ill need for instructions to go about replacing them.

Hey Monk

Looks easy enough, probably time consuming for the first one or two then you would get to know what you are doing.

But why bother, if it is just blowing a little on start up, it will not be affecting the efficency of the motor.
I try not to play with things until they need to be done

I just dont want to start it up near a police car/officer and a puff of blue smoke gets noticed. Canaries suck! :P

If you buy the seals it shouldn't cost much more than $100 for a mechanic to do it.

I got quoted $300 which is why i decided to try and D.I.Y it. Its probably something i need to learn how to do anyway. I have a dead magna in the backyard that i can play on with all these different methods without screwing it up before doing the actual job. I will try your method magna buff and i will try the one of the article and find which i prefer.

Thanks for all your help!
