Has anyone ever seen a falcon XR?
Of course you have, dont lie,
any way... i wanna put twin lights on my TR.
I want to take a mould of the standard headlight and indicator assembely out of fibre glass, then use twin round liights with LED parkers and indicators. then incorperate an open 'leterbox' grill.

does anyone know any problems i may come across in the build?
is it gunna be legil?
i will incorperate adjustment and atempt to comply with ADR's..

their not cheap.
i reckon it would look cool
i would make them so they just replace the head lights
and still use the TR/TS blinkers and grill
like these ones made for EA-ED falcons

why not modify the ed falcon ones? seems a bit simpler than starting from scratch

OK - you must use ADR compliant components (for example, the 90mm or 120mm hella headlamp modules) and they must be mounted so that they can be adjusted properly, at the right angle, level, highbeams on inside, lows on outside etc.) Headlamps like this are easy BUT the complication comes when you start to mess with indicators and parkers.

There are parkers mounted in the 90mm high beam module, but they have to be mounted no more than 300mm from the edge of the vehicle - edge being the furthest edge - ie. to the outside of your wheel arch. On a TJ, it is close to impossible to do this where the high beam would be mounted, hence why the parker is always mounted in the low beam.

Indicators are also very hard to get approved - mainly due to telemetry and mounting constraints. There are indicator modules available (they are actually used in the Mazda 3 (?)headlamps IIRC) but they need to be mounted behind perspex as they aren't watherproof.
I rapidly came to the conclusion that the indicators are better left alone.

Parts sources - well - the 90mm modules are roughly $500 each. Ouch. But, there are headlamps available for the VW Golf using separate modules for $400 (not sure of quality) or so from ozeparts.com.au. Another source is early BMW headlamps, but their design is getting a bit long in the tooth as well.

Most aftermarket headlamp modules are... well... crap compared to OEM. The falcon projectors were never stellar, and the semisealed beams they went to on the AU Xr's were not that much better.

Thing is - if you are doing it for headlamp performance, go OEM modules. You will have problems with the depth of your projectors (if you use these) as the sealed projectors are looooong - there are issues with battery clearance - at least on the 3rd gens).

If you really want something different, it is possible to mount 3 series BMW headlamps in a second gen.

Good find on that twinlight mob... Interesting... Wonder what modules they use, if they are ADR approved, or an improvement on stock (or just for looks)

Just had a look - they look like Hella Semi-sealed lamps. Not exactly the best for output, designed to replace the old sealed beam headlamps. You would get better output from the parabolics for the 2nd gens than these.
