I was looking through the Magna workshop manual and I came across the badges section.
I was wondering if anyone had any idea where i can get a V3000 badge from (or have it made).
Any help would be appreciated :)

They sold V3000's in new zealand as a magna import (yes an actual SOHC magna import, not the jap one). You might try your luck on www.trademe.co.nz but i dunno how much luck you'll have. Maybe try emailing mitsubishi and asking them?

Maybe one of our NZ members could get you one from Mitsu & send it to you. I did that with a Magna badge for one of the US members once.

When I bought the 'Magna' badge for the US member, the Aussie Mitsu dealer had a 'Diamante' one on his books. He tried to order it in but failed as it was not available to Aus.

i would'nt downdate the look of the car, you would want to update, so go for diamante or V3000 or even the 3rd gen magna...

I think he was refering to the "1st gen" V3000, so technically you would be getting a first gen badge lol

I chcked out one of the links to this car. It doesn't seem to be too significant but this is the model of car that Sheppard has run an almost flat 8 second quarter in.

hey back in the old days in NZ they used the v3000 as a traffic cop car, and they went very well indeed!
A friend got one and I was very impressed - so when I came to OZ I bought a TM magna, thinking it would be as good as the NZ ones, it wasn't!

Give them a ring?

large companies, especially overseas could take up to like a week to reply to your email if its like a low priority enquiry so id suggest at least give it a few days 1st, unless you really want to spend the money on an overseas phonecall (how long do you think you will be on hold for before you get through to the right person?)
And as a few others have expressed interest in this badge, once you do get through and a price quote, could you let us know as an EOI and organise a bulk buy?

I'll pay for them once i get the all clear from you guys then send them to you or if your in sydney pick them up if you like.

Sent out 8 emails yesterday (04/04/2006)...
- One to the NZ Mitsu Head Office - Customer Care
- Seven to various NZ Misu Dealers.

Received three replies within 24hrs :D

One email reply from Customer Care saying to contact the Dealers directly.
Two email replies from the Dealers...
- One who said - Yes, they can help us. NZ$38 (approx. AU$32) each.
- One who said - Yes, they can help us. We just need to let them know which badge we want (different badges from different models).

So...
If ya want a secondhand one (probably cheaper option), ask skyspotter for one.
If ya want a new one - let me know and I'll order X quantity of them (as soon as we work out which badge to order).

It's a mitsubishi eclipse. The eclipse was one of several chrysler/mistu joint models produced by the diamond star motors joint venture. There was an eagle version of the dodge stratus and the intrepid too. When chrysler got up the duff financially, they sold their share in diamond star to mitsu. Little did we know how the tables would turn for mitsu later.

The eclipse's look really ratty as they get older, I think the build quality was very much american (worse than a 70's centura!!) rather than japanese. Why? Toyota can make good cars in the US. Toyota treats its worker better

They should cost around the $32 mark. Should be able to confirm this once number of badges to be ordered is known.

I know I can get the V3000 badge, not sure about the 'SuperSaloon' one - but if you want that too, let me know and I'll try.
