Pull out, push back in. Simple :D

No trick to the clips..but just be gentle..they can break easy

Grab some sidecutters and snip the needle off :) I did, then sanded it back to a smooth knob.

Why when it's as simple as just pulling it out?

Yeah, I meant the clear front clips but i got it off now. What i wanted to do is paint the area around the speed dials etc... but it looks a bit hard to do now. Has anyone done this?

yeh i did it the other dayk, its easy as chips, just undo the screw that hold on the plastic cover, (2)....then undo the ones that hold the dial thingy cover, then unclit it and it comes off easy as...u just got the sorrounding on the dials.......

The whole lot comes off fairly easily. If there is a self serve wrecker anywhere you can get to with TR's in them go to one and start "experimenting" a bit.

I experimented on my own car :? I took the dash out and painted it, and when i put it back in i ONLY had 5 left over screws 8-[ :-$ But i didn't break anything so i was very pleased with myself \:D/

I just don't get how to take the black part away from the numbers on the dials without touching that green tape looking stuff. So, i did it the long and hard way...

  I'm an idiot
Skotyp17 do you have a photo of yours? Do TR's have the same dash surround as a TS?

You did it the right way, from the cluster I have in my car and the spare in my room, that part you painted doesnt come away.

5 left over screws!?

Killbilly

What are you removing it off?

If it's plastic..DONT use turps or paint stripper.

Yeah mal suggested some good stuff.

The only other way is good old sandpaper and elbow grease..but that might have detrimental effects on the plastic too.

Plastic is a tricky bastard of a surface.

I'll my boss at work asap and see what he says, he worked with Wattyl for 20 years so I'm sure he's come across this before.

I got a bit of paint on the speed dial. But i didn't know what to use on that sort of stuff so i left it. It's not that noticable.
