Sure its not the cable from a hands free kit that was installed in your car once upon a time. I ripped hands free kit out of my car and saw a simillar cable but was connected to the external phone antenna.

that's what it is ... prolly had an onglass antenna at 1 point in time and they just cut the cable and take the antenna off leaving the cable there

i do it most of the time at work ... not worth pulling half the car apart when you can replace the cable and connector for like 4 bucks ... if you follow it i'm sure it'll either go up to the top left of the windscreen or to the rear of the car

nah its not the light for anything at all, its is definaltly an infra red receiver

as for tightening the handbrake i just did up the screws in there and it helped out a little bit. it really needs to be adjusted in the shoes at the back

-Loosen adjusting nut under console
-Take off wheels, prise little rubber plug out from hub
-Use small screwdriver to adjust "starwheel" till you can't move discs
-Back off 5 clicks
-Adjust cable under console to remove all slack.

Handbrake should travel 3 to 5 clicks, not 9 like when I got my car
