I'm wondering what the hell the owner did to their centre console. Lookie how worn it is and it's only a 2004 model! Suspect!!! :doubt:

Lemon Pledge - its a cleaning product something like Mr Sheen - Americans tend to clean everything with it but this is what it does to painted or laquered surfaces... Yuk!

We got that bar on the KW Veradas...
Yep. The KL Veradas used normal magna front and rear bumpers as opposed to the US D spec
ones. They put it back in the KW after a lot of people complained. See my pics in my sig.

God knows why it doesn't have the five speed and the electronic dash, it's beyond me. Looks like the centre display just has time and km to empty.
Passenger airbag looks even more out of place than what it does on the Australian cars - looks like it's still the same shape as ours (ie, hasn't been mirrored for the US)

Its a vrx, so it doesnt have the electronic dash. As for the 4spd Mitsubishis have always been parts bin specials so who knows? Maybe they already have that tranny over there and didnt want to support another? But the bastards get memory seats and the fuel and boot release in a sensible place (always saw those mouldings). I wonder if they could be retrofitted?

The Verada Xi have the fuel and boot release located there as well. They are electronically
actuated rather than the electrically actuated. Supposedly.

Memory seats yes, power window controls no - look at what they have where the switch is on our magnas - an oversized TCL rocker button and a dummy switch. Much rather having the power window button on the dash!

dunno bout the centre console but that gear thing is back-to-front.. and looks bloody weird!
infact the whole thing looks weird with everything round the wrong way..
*edit: would the brake and accellerator pedal be swapped around aswell? if it was manual (going from left to right) would it go accellerator - brake - clutch rather than clutch - brake - accellerator? so you would therefor have to use your left foor to accellerate rather than your right?

No, pedals remain the same.
Has the key barrel on the right of the steering wheel (like us) but that makes it next to the centre consol.
TJ2 sports have electronic dashes......
I think that car has electronic dash. Its just too dark to make out.

hmm few things i noticed was, the clock on the trip computer - very good when you change your stereo, the sliver insert on the wheel - looks tuff, pics are hard to tell but it looks like they didnt get the rear vents, also they still got the tj < style seats and tj < sports style dash cluster
and it looks like the resale price is crap over there too lol
any one know if they ever got manuals over there?
Thing i found most interesting was at the bottom of the image viewer thing it shows that it was manufactured in australia. Call me ignorant but i didnt think we exported to the US, thought they made their own.

I think Mitsu Aust has been exporting Magnas/Veradas to the USA since the 2nd gen was introduced.

Your ignorant. Just jks, had to. Have been exporting them for some time. Also to United Arab Emirates and a few other little places( New Zealand??).

Very tempted to get some stuff off a totaled US D for the wagon. The window switches, console bin, bumper markers on the KJ, front seats and badges will do for the moment.

No. Since 1996. From TE/KEs to TW/KW. 1st gens were called galants over there. They had
the SOHC 12V 3.0 v6. Do a search in google image search for 1987 galant.
2nd gens were local us/jap called Diamantes with the intro of DOHC 3.0 v6 and AWD and etc
etc, sat nav, electronic display climate (AKA 3rd gen Veradas etc), auto dimming mirrors,
memory seats, traction control etc etc.
From 1996 - 2005, they went back to FWD SOHC 3.0 and 3.5 v6 with about the same level of
electronics which we did not get (even for the Veradas until the KJII Xi onwards which had
memory seats).

I'm sure they got our 2nd gens over there to.
You see one in The Fast and the Furious when he's driving the Ford Lightning at the start.

AFAIK, only the wagons were sent to them with the SOHC engine.

Around 1993, I believe we exported 2nd gen Mitsubishi Magna/Verada wagons to the USA badged obviously as Diamante's, the equivalent sedan already being sourced from Japan.
