Hi Guys,
We have only had our TL ES Magna for a few days, and already my girlfriend is complaining that her lower back is hurting while she is in the drivers seat.
Is this back problem with drivers a common issue with TL ES vehicles, and if so, what can be done about it. I love my car and may have to make a choice - ditch the car or the gf, hehe.

post pictures of both and let us decide for ya :bowrofl:
as for solutions your seats should have a lumber support lever or knob on the seat somewhere try moving that.

i found the seats uncomfy but on a 4 hr trip had no back pain better than ford or holden seats
Cure keep her out of the drivers seat, To much Humping can cause her bad back,
Yeah as Mr Bishi says - adjust the lumbar support - that's what it's there for.

there is an adjustable lumbar support on the drivers chair.. play with that a little..
also driven 9 hour from melb to syd in one and my back was fine

ive done non stop 7 hours trips in my TF, my neck and shoulder and arm get bloody sore from having my arm on the steering wheel for so long but apart from that, my back is fine. Not sure if my seats are the same as yours but.

my backs fine after driving almost 2000k's in 2 days... except my left arse cheek and thigh drilled after it...
I'm only 17 and got a bad back, and after sitting in tons of even new cars, Mitsubishis and Holdens were by far the best. Folks own a TL ES Magna and VY Acclaim, I've driven 4 hours in both and would rather the TL. Strangely enough my uncle reckons that Magnas have the worst seats in the world? Personal opinion I guess, just crank up the lumbar support.
Yep I'm on the road most of the time for work (around 60,000 kms per year) and I find the seats fantastic, much better than TE-TJ exec seats.
I've got a KL Verada xi, and the seats are the least comfortable of any car I've ever owned, Way too hard. Driving from Melb-Sydney I had to stop a couple of times just to get some feeling back in my backside
I'm hoping the sheepskin covers I've ordered will make a difference.

i agree to some point (yes they are bloody flat and some-what hard, but so are most car seats after being used to the ralliart seats :P ).. but you can adjust the TL/KL seats to make them more supportive..
raise/lower the front and rear part of the seat base (that you sit on) that could help.. i like the front part of the seat a bit higher than the back, so you actually sit IN the seat rather than ON it.. having the front the same level as the back, i find, is very uncomfortable..
