Hi, just wondering if anyone can answer this question for me.
Reason being is that I now have an '02 TJ S2 exec and I don't think it handles as well as a rental car ('98 Altera travelled 20-30,000kms) I had back in '98. I travelled 8000kms in three weeks from Adelaide - Grampians -Great Ocean Road - Melbourne - Canberra - Bathurst - Sydney and Brisbane covering nearly every type of road surface their was - So I think I got a pretty good feel for the car . That car seemed to handle really well and I wonder if the Altera's had a rear sway bar and more firm suspension than the TJ executives.
My misus thinks the car goes ok and its just that I got used to my old import skylines better handling and am expecting too much - I don't think so.
My TJ 3.5 s2 has done 59,000 kms, std height suspension, 6000 kms in the last 6 weeks and travelling on the back roads around Canberra I have noticed the body roll and that it is grounding the drivers front mudflap when travelling at 100kms when the cars hits an undulation. It doesn't happen every bump, just when the car happens to hit the right bump that matches the spring rate? - happened three times today! I tried bouncing the car up and down and shock seems ok, no leaks from the shock either.
So do the 98 Altera's have rear swaybars and any thoughts on grounding out the mudflap?
p.s. I can't really afford a whiteline susp pack yet...
Stephen
