I used WD-40 and it worked well, give it a few good spray and soak it for a few minutes

Pharmacies.DARN! I would have said an Essential Oil shop. You know, the ones that smell really nice and sell incense and stuff.

I'd like to see a few of you guys in there looking totally bewildered and just itching to get out of there. lol

If you used to much metho I guess it would, though the key is to just rub it over and then sorta rub the adhesive off. The metho just evaporates so it doesn't matter. Didn't do any damage to my paint. I guess if you coated the area in metho and kept doing it over a longer period of time it could hurt the paint.

You can get teatree oil from any Supermarket.

Once you have removed the badge, grab a cotton bud and dab the oil all over the left over gunk. Wait a few minutes and wipe off.

You will probably need to repeat the process a few times.

Once you have done this, give the area a light buff/wax.

Supermarket pharamacy aisle..

You can also use eucalyptus oil (i reckon its better for removing goo than tea tree..) Then theres things in the cleaning aisle like Big Kev's Goo Remover which works also.. use something like a putty card or plastic knife to help get rid of the larger lumps of glue.

Do a search for another thread that mentions that some badges are fixed before final painting
and clear coating hence the rough edges. You could've used good old vegetable oil to remove
the glue as well.

hey mate i work in a car yard detailing cars at the moment, and we pretty much debadge all of our cars. You can get away with just using metho and rubbing all the crap off, then i would recommend a quick polish (no need to cut back the clear coat) over the area where the badge was and it should be fine.

any solvent will get rid of the glue from badges. this includes stuff like metho, kero, tea tree oil, eucalyptus. be carful of some of the detergent based cleaners as they can damage the paint work. prepsol is a weak automotive solvent that shouldn't damage the paint and is available from most auto stores. As for the badge outline left in the paint work this is a result of the badges being put on at the factory before the paint is completely set. a cutting compund is best used to remove the marks as they are actually small sinkbacks in the paint. be careful not to get carried away as factory paint is usually pretty thin.

Petrol will do the trick. Wont hurt paint and just give it a light polish afterwards.
