Hi Guys,

I just finished making my angled baffles for the front doors so I thought I would post up some pics for anyone who's interested. The angle is the same as the stock mounts so the sound is shot straight out the existing grill and they are made out of 16mm craftwood. Bass sounds better and overall sound quality is higher compared to the crappy plastic mount. Now that I can run bass through the front speakers my overall system sounds louder.

There not as good as tims but hey they do the job, but I'm also running a pretty basic system so I don't need anything too flash.

So what do u's think?

Good job, they look very good. Planning on some other sound deadening? Like sealing the service holes, chucking some dynamat/roadkill in there?

Thanks Guys,

I don't know if it is worth sound deadening cause I'm only running about 50WRMS on the front speakers.

Just out of interest what kind of power are you guys sending into ur doors?

its worth it, mine are only rated at 40WRMS but have nearly sent me deaf:)

was definatly worth sound deadning bro, it is money well spent, i mean all togther on SD i spent under $130 for the SD paint, Mat, and other farty things like Prepsol, but man it is worth it....

there is an awesome article on CAA about this in the tutorials section, its what i used to learn:)

Im only putting 110 a side thats just into the midbass. All up 440 w rms (of headroom) into the fronts.

what did u use to seal up the edges of the baffles?

looking good.

Thanks,
Do you mean the blue stuff? My dad's a builder and it's some special waterproof stuff they use in the wet areas of a house before they lay the tiles, you can buy it at builders supply shops or tile places.

Or after I screwed it on. Once screwed on I ran a bead of silcone around the edge to stop any water seeping in.

Cheers,
Adam

I spose you could if you wanted to. I just copied the stock plastic mount in a series 2 magna which is aimed directly at the grill on the door trim. If you angled it up more the speaker would be facing the door trim and not the grill.
Don't know how that would sound.
