Hey guys and girls !

Just picked up the ride after having the unichip fitted to the 3lt 98 TF Magna 177,000 kms and its developing 126Kw's at the wheels !

The manufacturer boasts 124Kw's at the wheels so have a few extra !

Mid range power a burst and it reves straight through the gear changes with out hesitation which is a contrast from before and their is a crispness accross the whole throttle range !

The 90ks thru to 125 ks when it changes from 2nd into 3rd gear (auto) has a definite extra boost !

Is it worth the $1,400 to have it fitted... ? We will see as I have more seat time !

Nice one. At least you have the chip now so any extra mods you add will only require an hour or two dyno time to get the absolute most out of them.

Got a dyno sheet?

A standard 3lt puts out 94 KW's

With extractors high flow cat 2.5" exhaust straight thru muflers and a K & N pannel filtter and now a unichip it has to be more than the 94kw standard !!!

So I is reading it wrong !

wellllll UNDER8D .. puts out like 115KW's atws or something at last dyno day ( which should equate to 150 HP atws or there abouts ? ) from memeory only had extracots zorst and pod .. .....

i know different dyno different day = varied results but that is a VERY different result

hmmm i dunno its a weird one :S

I hear what your saying !

It doesnt sound right but their is a dyno day comming up so might attend that to see !

If the other 3ltr did 115 Kw's with extraxtors exhaust and pod (the same as me) then 126Kw's from mine after the unichip is fitted sounds about right from what I was told I should gain about 12 kws !

nodz my 3L auto has hi-tech extractors and lukey muffler puts out 116fwkw or 155 fwhp :) so if yours has all that.. and the chip! i see it pulling at least 163fwhp?

Take it down the 1/4 and you will find out what your real HP value is by the trap speed..

But your's is manual and he has an auto, so you would expect your car to put down more power.

My old 3.0 auto put down 110kW with cat back exhaust and unichip (I expect my manual to pull about this figure stock).

depends on the car and the mods..

It must be giving you something though.. thats the point of the chip.. so you can justify your mods..

mine was 131kw ATW stock and was 136KW atw once we put the haltech in..

the only mod was the exhaust which went 1 into 2 out the back standard side.. loosing back pressure so would have more if i left it standard..:P

i wouldn't worry about the dyno figure at all. if it does everything better than before and your happy with the results then that is all that matters.

with my unichip i was wacking out 155kw at the wheels, then 161kw at the wheels at one dyno, then went to another and got 141kw's (all dyno runs on stock 17's, not the 20's)

every dyno is different and you can only compare cars at dyno day events.

as long as your happy, and great choice going the unichip :D

No I have not done the 1/4 mile yet as the 1/4 mile drags in perth are comming up soon !

I had the 3lt TF V6 auto fitted with the uni chip yesterday !

I already had the extractors High flow steel cat 2.5" exhaust and high flow muflers plus the pannel filter so the Kw was high to start with but I do note the throttle response and added exceleration under foot but "NOT" the whip lash I thought tho in accordance with the specs unichip put out !

But I will do a 1/4 mile and see what the auto does !

Im doing the waneroo race meet on the 31 march also !

Ill keep you informed !

I do note their was so much debate on which brand chip piggy back or computer to go with that it really was confusing !

Yeah, don't expect massive gains form fitting a chip unless you have some seriouse modifications and the car isn't running right without a re-tune.

But you will notice a much smoother power delivery and that little bit of extra urge in your case. My auto TF used to sprint pretty fast from about 70-120 on a nice chilled night, it was in it's ellement on the highway. It could keep up with a few more powerfull cars on the run.

unichip has done wonders with my car for the track.
a stock car will run a 14.7 (claimed) and with the chip and exhaust has made my car run a 14.006 @ 98.15mph. thats a huge gain in anyones mind so this bloke should chop at least half a second off his time with the this modification

Half a second is a big jump for an auto. He might be lucky though.

With all the bolt ons im doing more than half a second quicker than stock so with the chip it would be better still !

Besides as long as you go hard who gives a flying f#c& !

I was talking about the Unichip alone. With the other stuff I'd be hoping for over half a second too.

Oh, what's a high flow steel cad?
