My sisters KS just went boom. Still might be considered the same engine after fixed but its made 350000km's.
Top radiator hose exploded big build up of pressure.

What are you guys thoughts on what caused this; either the top hose was blocked but i dont think it was so im thinking an associated pump has failed...

Also Oil has come through; checked sump; fine no huge leaking from probable gaskets.... if the head gasket blew would oil come through the thermostat and out this split hose??

I knew what i was talking about; yay; mechanic respected me.... first time ever.
Asked if theyed fill her back up and do compression testing etc--> correct

Oww coolant all over hands. Burning.

Hose probably just split out of age; I replaced mine just in case not long ago, but then my radiator happened to split open instead :badgrin:

hahaha soz jase. The TS will never stop she just keeps getting presents (aka dohc half cuts in april)

oil came out through the top radiator hose that blew; i just dont know how or why; the presence of oil is why i dont think its just a radiator hose.

doesnt the compression chamber have thick cast iron between it n water jacket?? If the head gasket went wouldnt oil be able to mix with coolant.

why is there oil...

my top hose came off for no reason

car is a 8/95 with 261,000kms when it happend

I put it down to old age, g/f's dad knew the right people got the top tank on the radaitor replaced and 5 hrs later and $130 she was back on the road :)
