in my opinion not worth the effort; just put auto back in and then buy manual 5 spd. Wiring will have to be altered too; wouldnt be too bad i believe but when such cars cost 4000$ for a nice one...

i aint gunna buy another TR as i just spent $3000 on a new engine and my TR is nice i dont wanna buy 1 with second hand engine and use dat.
so wat am i looking at??
hmm it would be costly, i was going to do that but i found a manual magna with engine blown got it for $500, and swapped engies insted, and kept the manual one, it only cost me $50, well would have but when the engine was out i decided on some engine work, and speaking of that its finally done, now it goes up 2 the shop to have ecu and turbo and other pits and pipes installed, i had some post up on it, once its done i will put up a post with pics, im looking at 200+ fwhp

If you really want to do it you will need:
- engine loom (if they are seperate on the TR, I cant recall)
- clutch, pressure plate, flywheel, flywheel bolts
- loctite (red)
- gearbox
- shifter and cables
- manual ECU (I am sure that unlike the 1G the 2G are different auto to manual)
Tips:
When you get the gearbox count the number of splines on the CV joint. If they are different to the number on your car you will need CVs and front hubs. Unfortunately some autos had 25 splines, others had 27.
When you put the flywheel on the engine, make sure you use RED loctite on the bolts, use a tension wrench. The manual says blue spec loctite but in my experience IT WILL COME LOOSE.

if you've spent that much i'd try to do what Vip has

You do not need a manual ecu for starters, they will interchange no problems.
You will not need a wiring loom, you will simply only need to bridge the inhibitor switch connection to allow the car to start. If you have cruise you will need also to do another mod to the clutch pedal to allow the switch.
Gear stick and cables are easy to get as is manual brake pedal
Clutch and flywheel also easy to get and flywheel is cheap second hand and get machined.
The box, agian plenty of self service wreckers have these in cars, here at upullit there are dozens.

rebuit gearboxes go for around 1100$ +- 300$ or so i didnt look into it heavily; personally reckon that be the way to go unless your car is structurally damaged; otherwise 2nd hand gearbox for cheaper dont know how much though...

well your auto doesnt have a clutch pedal.
Its not a box off, box in swap.

the clutch pedal assy simply bolts on with an independant bracket. You need the manual brake pedal as well, not hard to get.
You drill a hole in the fire wall for the clutch master cyl and use a die grinder to get it to the right size.
You do not have cruise, then great, simply bridge the wire for the park to the start circuit to enable the starter to function. The clutch, flywheel and box is straight bold in
