Hi There,

I need some advice. The low speed engine fan on my KE Verada does not operate (The engine fan has a high and low speed circuit) but the same fan operates ok on the high speed only. So what is happening at the moment is that the temperature is moving over halfway before the high speed on the engine fan and the smaller A/C fan kick to bring the temp under half again. As far as I know, the low speed should operate regularly so that the temp remains constant (with high speed coming in only rarely when needed in hotter conditions).

When the A/C is on, only the smaller condensor fan operates until things get hot for the high speed to kick in. In other magnas/veradas, I have noticed that the low speed operates on a regular basis, and always when the A/C is on.

I have replaced the relays, but this did not solve the problem.

Any ideas on what it might be? Could the low speed circuit in the Engine fan be the problem even though Hi speed is ok? Some guidance would be most appreciated.

thanks
Louis K

So they are 2 speed. That mite explain a problem I have. If I figure it out I'll let ya know. :D

I wasnt aware that they are 2 speed.

As far as i know and have observed in my 4 3rd gen veradas, only 1 fan comes on when needed to cool the car if the a/c is off. As soon as you turn the a/c on even if the car is stone cold in the morn, both fans kick in. Therefor 1 fan is for thermo to keep car at same temp and 2 fans for anytime the a/c compressor is on. The 1 fan used to keep the car at a constant temp only comes on when needed to cool the car down.

Sounds strange that both fans are comming on to cool the car. should only be 1 if the a/c is off. Maybe the coolant/engine temp sensor is faulty.

Might be worth looking at that.
