i had a front right blinker fitted by mit. 6 months ago and it bloody fell out he other day. to cut a long story short there is a stubborb guy in taree mit. who won't do it under warranty. if it was installed properly it wouldn't have fallen out in the first place. gosh. so annoyed right now.... so i was wondering if anyone had a front right hand blinker they want 100 approx to supply and fit the new one. pricks  should i take it further up the ladder or would i be pushing an elephant up stairs if u know wat i mean ????

Expensive - you can get a pair of non-genuine for $70 off ebay or the like. Not too bad quality either... But I am not too convinced about their off-axis visibility performance as compared to the standard items...

You'd far better off going to another town to get anything done. Cullens did some warranty work for me on the magna just a couple of weeks back, same problem has been back for a week now!
They charge 1st class trade rates and the apprentices do just about everything!

Used to get my holdens serviced there, and twice found that I'd been charged for air filters which never made it under my bonnet! Spoke to my cousin, who is local highway patrol. he told me that the hwy patrol commodores were serviced at mid coast ford!!!!

Sure enough, took the holden to midcoast and there were two hwy patrol commodores, in for service!!

I thought a warranty covered this stuff. (esp if they touched the light last)

I know they dont cover what they call 'wear and tear" like..adjusting handbrakes, stained seats etc.

I would take this further up the ladder IMHO.

Unless he thinks you had it stolen off your car and does not want to replace it.

Was your car under warranty or do you just think the blinker should be under warranty because they installed it?

yeah it a late 2003 model still under new car warranty so therefore i believe both the fact of the new car warranty and it was only installed 6 months ago it should be covered :(

For this level of customer service, Mitsis will give the dealer hell. Gotta remember, they're having a hard time keeping afloat and they'd be mighty angry if this is how customers are being treated!

Ok in theory he should replace it, as it's obviously their fault. However how can you prove that it wasn't your fault? you cant really, thats the problem. Though if they had any sense of customer service, they would do something about it.

well i work at a mitsu dealer and you'd be surprised how many falcons and commodores and other makes that come in to get serviced... i swear its only because they gat a free car wash.. :bowrofl:

but where i am, i can say, even before i worked there, there was never any warranty issues.. my family has owned mitsus for a while and if anything was even queiried (sp) it was just replaced, no questions asked..

mind you our next door neighbour is the service manager.. so maybe that had something to do with it..

definately persist the issue.. it was a genuine accessory (was it not) fitted by them that should have a warranty even if it isnt covered under new car warranty..

fix it yes, replace it? well its up to them really, but they dont have to. They can easily turn around and be jerks and say you took it out and just want another one.
