It wouldn't. Red light is used as it doesn't cause glare in dark light conditions, which being courtesy lights is their purpose. Blue lights would just look crap.

Take out the light, cover hole with whatever, and connect some EL wire up to it and run it around ur door trim :cool:

Red light is used as it doesn't cause glare in dark light conditions, which being courtesy lights is their purpose.I would have thought it's more a warning light so passing cars don't swipe your door off at night...

just make a clear perspex version and run either a blue light, colour it or use blue perspex

far as i know thats why they have them
so oncoming cars can see you open ya door at night
red means warning

No they are courtesy lights. In Mitsubishi's current brochures the description is "Door courtesy lamps - front". Not sure why they don't have them in the back now as mine does. The purpose is to light the ground before you step out of the car, to see puddles etc etc.

if that was the case why arnt they clear and facing the ground
its courtesy to let other drivers know your getting out of the car saves your door too

You shouldn't be opening your door when there's a car coming, that's just common sense. So no...they're not for that.

I dont see the rice :) ,blue instead of red will look better as most things in my cars blue, was just asking a ? no need for a debate about it :D...
